minho made his way to the bar.
there were so many thoughts running through his mind he wasn't really sure what to do with them all. when he walked in he saw jisung right away, which-although it being his reason to go there originally-was not something he expected to do.
he walked over to the bar, sat a few stools away from the boy, and waved at the bartender.
seungmin had a small smirk on his face when he looked away from jisung to give his attention to minho. it wasn't cruel, but he still didn't like it.
sipping on his drink his eyes couldn't help but drift to the boy beside, only to find jisung staring at him. confusion and annoyance was written all over his face, minho winked.
"why are you here?"
"i'm always here."
the interaction was almost flirting, if you set aside jisung's supposed hatred.
"were you looking for me?"
"and if i was?"
life carried on around them, noise filled the dimly lit room. tens of people dancing and conversing. people having a good time, people trying not to. so much was happening but everything seemed still, no sound and no movement.
jisung rolled his eyes and turned back to seungmin.
"minnie can i get another round?" he tossed his orange hair back, seemingly trying too hard to look carefree. minho looked him up and down, giggling when he noticed jisung's feet swinging back and forth.
"what are you laughing at? you prokaryote-"
"your feet can't reach the floor so you swing them. it's cute." seungmin nodded his head as he shook a drink. jisung's face twisted into a look of disgust. he denied the statement, in a way that implied that he knew it was true but was simply being humble.
"you're both short, it's adorable." seungmin's two sense was unnecessary but relieved some unwanted tension as it made both of them laugh. minho was glad he was there. seungmin had been a friend of minho's for some time now, one that was very much needed.
minho turned towards the counter and focused on his drink, his mind raced with thoughts of 'what if' and he knew it would be the death of him. out of the corner of his eye he saw jisung doing same, until a very tall and buff looking man walked up to him.
minho half watched diligently as the man pathetically flirted with jisung. he could tell jisung wasn't having any of it, and stopped watching as it was obvious he would be rejected and gone in a matter of seconds. well, he thought it was obvious. the next thing he knew the man-mark, as he called himself, a foreigner-was sitting in between him and jisung.
seungmin looked at minho knowingly, he poured a drink for himself and the older boy. they both watched intensely. every so often jisung would look minho in the eyes with this look that said "who's the prince now?" it wasn't insulting, but it hurt. he knew he had to make a move or maybe he'd lose his shot.
minho downed the last of his drink before getting up, seungmin's gaze followed him. he walked over to jisung and put his arm around the boy's waist.
"hey baby, sorry i'm late. who's your friend?"
seungmin's face turned from an 'o' to a sly smile within seconds. he was proud. jisung was a bit shocked, and he tensed in minho's arm. for a second he was scared this would backfire immensely, but jisung didn't let him down.
"not at all, we were just having a friendly conversation." the man scoffed, obviously catching on to the rouse. minho sat down, filling the spot once again.
"so i'm your baby now?" jisungs voice was laced with sarcasm.
"of course, unless you'd prefer otherwise?" seungmin slid over so he was in front of the two again, listening to their conversation.
"you could cut the sexual tension with a knife." the youngest's comment brought a blush to jisung's cheeks and a smirk to minho's face.
"so..jisung..can i get your number now?" minho was extremely hopeful in this. he needed this to work. "it'd be nice to not have to trek all over town to talk to you."
"fine. you get ONE date." he started scribbling his number on a napkin. "don't screw it up." jisung slid the napkin in front of minho before standing up and walking out.
seungmin leaned a bit closer to minho and whispered, "you did it, let's celebrate," before placing another drink down in front of minho. he didn't care about the drink, or the beaming smile on his friend's face, all he cared about was the 10 digit number sitting in front of him.
he did it.
