It's monday and I don't fricking know what to do. I'm looking at him, wondering "does he know his family's past?". I must have stared too intensely, because he noticed.
"Uhh...do I have something on my face?" He spoke. I froze.
"Ah, uh, no... I'm just daydreaming, sorry!" I managed to say, being very embarrassed of myself.
He responded with "Okayyy..." Then returned to what he was doing. I felt my cheeks burning. I hate being in love. Ugh.
I started pretending to write, while I was planning my next move. I decided that I would bring up the "Jack Anderson" subject like something that I just happened to stumble across. I will tell him "what a coincidence that your name is also Jack" and I'll watch closely to see his reaction. After that... I don't know. That's as far as I got, to be honest. Now I just got to figure out how to start this conversation.
During break, he was with a friend of mine who liked murder cases and all that crap, so I saw this as my perfect oportunity to approach him.
"Hey, Denisse, I read a very interesting article yesterday about a very old incident..." And I basically explained the story. My friend had to leave halfway through the explanation because she had something to do or whatever.
"Isn't it such a funny coincidence that he has the same name as you?" I said, while looking at him. He looked away quickly.
"Y-yeah, I guess so. It's pretty cool."
I noticed that he was very engaged in this conversation. He was probably trying to find out how much I know about this. He probably suspects that I already know his "true identity". I don't know for sure, but it's my chance to ask.
I cornered him and looked directly into his eyes.
"Are you...Jack Anderson's brother?" I asked in a soft, but curious voice. I probably looked like a puppy. All that was missing was my wiggling tail, and that would be it.
I was eagearly waiting for his response. He tried to look away, but couldn't, since I was so close to him. He became nervous all of a sudden. I've never seen him like this. I don't know where I got this confidence, but let's keep it going, baby!
"I-I'm not allowed to- I can't..."
That's when I realized "Of course he isn't allowed to tell me, which mother would want her second son to..." I thought. I shook my head and took some steps away from him.
"I'm so sorry, I should have realized this sooner. BUT, I pinky promise that I will not tell anyone about this, okay?
Gosh I'm so sorry..."He looked...relieved. I was expecting him to run away or to snap at me or something, but no... He put his hands on his face and sighed out of relief.
"I-It's okay, it's not because of tha- I mean I'm glad you understand." He nervously blurted out.
"I'm so sorry...and I know that this isn't my business..."
"No, it's fine... I just want to know how you found out."
"What do you mean?" I was puzzled.
"Well, it's pretty damn impressive that you found out so much about my family. I'm just curious how you did it. How did you even get to the name "Jack Anffers"?"
"Ah, well, you see..."
"Wait. Were you Googling my name?" He said with a smirk on his face. That damned face of his.
