I opened the door to a silent house, I thought my parents would be back by now. They must be running really late, I got my phone out of my pocket and sent a message to my mum "Hey, where are you? I thought you were coming home tonight".

I walked straight upstairs to the bathroom to take a shower. I locked the door,striped down and turned the shower on. I waited for it to get warm before getting in. I grabbed the shampoo from the side and started washing my hair while studying all the bruises forming. Once I finished my hair, I washed my body quickly and got out just in time - it was getting cold. Walking back to my room, I put on my awesome cat onesie before checking my phone again, locking the door  then climbing into my warm bed before slowly falling asleep.

*next day*

For once I didn't wake up from my alarm but the door bell. Who would that be? I looked at my phone to see its..... 10 o'clock. Crap, I missed my alarm now I'm late for school. I got up and rushed around looking for some clothes. Then I heard a knock at the door again. I walked down the stairs still in my cat onesie with my phone in my hand checking my notifications. Mum still hasn't text me back.

Once I reached the door, I opened it to see a police women and a very professional looking lady with a clipboard in her hands. I froze I didn't know what to do. Why were they here, did someone tell them about what happened yesterday?

Before I could speck the police one said "Are you Jasmine white? Are your parents Katherine and Matt white"

"Errrrr, yes. Why are you asking me all this? What's wrong?"

"I think we better come inside then we will explain everything".
Explaining. Explaining what. I opened the door more so they could come in.

"Would you two like a drink of anything?" I asked walking to the kitchen. Trying to hide my nervousness

"No, we are fine. Come sit down Jasmine" I did as she said and sat down.

"We are here to talk about your parents"

"What about them? What has happened? Do you know where they are, they didn't come home last night."

"Your parents were in a car crash"  
Oh jinxx I'm dreading what's coming next, please don't be...

"I'm so sorry but they didn't make it. We are looking into it and it seems that there car got hit on the side and they died instantly from the impact. I'm so sorry"

This can not be happening, I must be dreaming. They can't just leave me like this. I know we didn't really talk much but there still my parents and I love them no matter what.

"I am dreadfully sorry about what happened to your parents. I'm Rose and I will be your guardian. You will be coming back to the foster home with me because you are under age until your birthday. And I'm guess you don't have a job to pay your way." The professional looking lady said as she wrote on her clipboard.

I don't want to go, what about Charlotte and what if I don't make any friends at this home! I felt tears slowly dripping down my check. No no no this has to be a nightmare, I just need to wake up. That's it, I just have to wake up...
