I'm reading my book
Don't know what compelled me
But I just have to look
Your smile is alive
It's so bright like the sun
Behind it there's a reason

I'm secretly listening
How beautiful your laugh is
That sound fills my ears
It's really hard to miss
For months I have pictured
your face everyday
For months I'm secretly hoping
that you would look my way
If I could just dream a little more
Things wouldn't be this way
You're the only one that I'm looking for
If you could only love me today
But fate is dangerous
and evil is she
That our world is different
And there's no you and me
So I'm stuck here in the distance
with my coffee and my book
Scared as shit to do anything
But to gaze at you and look
