Before I went off to grab the liquor I walked down to my room and checked on Cathy and she was still sleep, slumped over on the right side of my bed with her feet hanging off the end of the bed. I laughed to myself because my Bestfriend is a wild sleeper. I walked over to her and positioned her the right way and pulled the covers over top of her body. I threw her hair into a low ponytail and cut the light off before I walked out the room. I shut the door and made my way into the kitchen. I grabbed to glasses and the patron from out of the cabinet. While walking back into my painting room I heard the house phone ring. I sat the patron and the glasses down and proceeded to walk into The living room grabbing the phone. Hello, this is Mia speaking who is this?

Hello mia, this is Keyshawn is Cathy over there?

Yes she is, she's upstairs in my bed sleep. I gotta talk to you anyway Mia replied

Mia looked at the phone with her face scrunched up wondering what he meant by that. Well okay Keyshawn, I'll have her call you when she wakes up and don't be telling people where I live without letting me know first nigga. Mia said whole smiling.

Yeah okay sounds like I made a smart move because I can see you smiling without even looking at you. Don't do my boy like that, let him love you. Keyshawn replied

I'll try but have a nice night Keyshawn and don't be out there stepping out on my bitch because I'll kill you too nigga!

Keyshawn chuckled and told Mia to have a nice night as well and not to worry Cathy is the only woman in his life.

After hanging up Mia grabbed the patron and two glasses and headed back to the room. As soon as she walked in she seen James smoking and already painting.

Stay right there don't move, James replied.

Cathy smiled and did as she was told. Do you at least want me to pour you a drink?

Nope stay right there for a min until I tell you to move, James said while taking another pull on the blunt.

Mia stood there for the next 30 mins getting irritated because she didn't know why she was still standing there.

James looked up at her and told her to come here.

She smiled and walked over, when she looked down at the picture she couldn't help but to smile big asf. It was a painting of her standing with two glasses and the bottle of patron. She looked over at James and said " where did you Learn how to paint this"?

He looked up into her glossy eyes and said "school, art class" after everything happened with my parents like you I turned to basketball and painting to relieve my pain & you are right paintings speak feelings.

Mia couldn't do nothing but smile at James, after all these years he turned out to be a good man a man that she could she herself with. Yeah Mia been with Jason but they never fucked all he ever did was eat her out and finger her. Mia knew about the bitches from the hood and school because the streets talk. So giving her body up to him was a no go, she always wanted to wait until she clean across the right one. Breaking her out of her thoughts James asked " have you ever been in love"

Mia caught off guard opened up the bottle of patron and pouring some into her glass she took a sip and sat down before she answered the question.  Looking into James eyes Mia spoke " I never been in love before but I have loved" I always wanted to be in love but with somebody who's also In love with me. I don't think love should be one sided.

James looked over at Mia as she talked and sipped on her drink, he took in everything she was saying while drinking his drink and smoking the rest of his blunt.

For the rest of the night, they talked, laughed and go to know more about each other. By the time they we're finished with painting, the whole bottle of patron was gone and so was all James weed. They sat on the couch and watched " paid in full" James laid back on the couch while Mia crawled on top of him and bought the blanket up to their body's. She closed her eyes feeling James kiss her forehead and tell her " goodnight" with that being said they both fell asleep.
