Klaus's POV:

"I have to, brother. It's the only way I can find another way to kill our father." I explained to Elijah as I said goodbye for what seemed like the millionth time. It wasn't my fault that that idiot witch Davina brought my murderous father back from the dead.

"I know you have to, but you must come back as soon as you have found the weapon. And don't forget: we need this to kill our father." He said slowly, working up to a shout as I jumped into the car to join Cami.

Caroline's POV:

"Hey, did you hear Klaus is back?" Elena said as we put away Christmas decorations. "Really?" I said. That meant drama, and a lot, knowing Klaus. "Yep. Apparently his psycho dad's back from the dead, and he has to find a way to kill him." She said as wrapping up tinsel. "Well, that's perfect timing." I said sarcastically. "How is he going to find another weapon? We tried pretty damn hard to find one for him!" I said. "I don't know, apparently he brought this human girl whose family is known for killing supernatural creatures. I think her name's Carly or something..." Elena explained. "Well, enough drama! I said. On with the lights!" Elena groaned.

"Hey Caroline." said a deep voice behind me. I whirled around being paranoid, and sighed with relief when I realized it was Stefan. The last thing I needed was Klaus coming around proclaiming his love for me. What happened last time he was here almost made Tyler kill him, for god's sake!
"What are you doing here?" I asked. "I wanted to know how your mom was doing. I know she's still in hospital " he said with a classic lying, dumbfounded frown.
"You don't have to lie about why you're here." I said with a sigh. "You just want to know if Klaus has paid me a visit, and he hasn't. I'm not interested. We hooked up once, and he's a monster. Do you actually think I would consider him anything more than a casual hookup? Besides, I'm sure that he feels the exact same way." I said, assuring myself. Because that was the truth, right?

Klaus' POV:
As I heard Caroline say that from the door, my emotions became unlike anything they'd ever been like, not in a thousand years of being a man. I felt dizzy, like I was going to puke. But I was a vampire, I can't be sick. Well, at least not in that way. I slowly walked towards the woods in front of Caroline's college, and made it maybe five feet before I felt the heat rush to my face, and I kicked a tree clean off its roots. Well, it didn't matter now. She didn't want me anymore. I had to get back to Cami anyway: in a town like this, she could get into a lot of trouble.

"Well, home sweet home, isn't it?" I questioned the empty house standing before me. Cami must be out grocery shopping or something. This was the house my entire family lived in years before, and naturally where I would be staying. As if I needed any more bad memories flooding to the surface. I stepped into the old house, it was covered in dust. Well, that was a problem for Cami to solve. Time to go to my favorite spot in Mystic Falls: the bar.
