Chapter Five: Kitty Cat Hangout

Akira's P.O.V.

I have never been more tired during school in my life. I was never the kid to fall asleep in class, but I think I passed out at least three times before Ms. Kawakami gave up trying to keep me awake. Morgana said that i was probably sleepwalking, and I didn't try to deny it. It felt like all the sleep I thought I got was reduced to like two hours. Luckily, the school bell woke me up to go home, otherwise I would've spent the night in my classroom.

When I got to the cafe, I tiredly trudged up the stairs, dropped my bag on the floor, and plopped into my bed. Just then I felt my phone vibrate, and I saw that I got a message from Ryuji.

Ryuji: Hey man! Do you mind if I come over later? I've got nothing better to do for the rest of the day

I was tired, but I didn't pass up the opportunity to see Ryuji. I slowly respond, and I put my phone down without waiting for a response. I laid down in bed and slowly began to drift off. I felt myself shift into werecat form, my body feeling warm and fuzzy. I'll just sleep for a little bit.. A little catnap doesn't hurt anyone.. Right?

Ryuji's P.O.V.

I walked to the entrance of LeBlanc and opened the door, the smell of coffee and curry hitting me right in the face. I quietly enter, and Boss looks over at me.

"Akira never told me he had a friend coming over today.." He sighs. "Must've forgot.. Anyways, he's upstairs. Be quiet up there, and don't disturb the customers.." I nod, and head up to Akira's room.

"Akira~! I'm here!" I call out to him. No one responded, but instead I saw a large cat with a Shujin uniform and a pair of glasses curled up on the bed.

"He's been like this for the past hour or so.." Morgana says with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "He's taking up all the room on the bed.." I kept staring at the sleeping werecat. He looked so calm and adorable, I just wanted to go over and squish his cheeks. I quietly walked over to him and sit down next to him. I raise my hand and I begin to pet his fur. He begins to purr, and he opens his eyes a bit. He shifts around to make more room, and looks up at me.

"Hey dude.." I say with a smile. He returns the smile with one of his own, and he continues to purr as I pet him. "I thought I was going to be playing video games with my best friend, not cuddling with a bigger and cuter version of Morgana.." Akira's ears and tail perk up at my comment, and Morgana let out an offended "hey!" Akira blushed a bit, and covered his face with one of his paws.

I chuckle and quickly pull out my phone to snap a picture. I open up IM's and send the picture into the group chat.

Ryuji: Guys look at how cute he is!!! 🐱 💕💕💕

Ann: Awww~!! ❤️

Makoto: How adorable!

Yusuke: Very cute. Maybe he'll let me paint him next time I come over

Ann: You better let Akira know that I'm coming over right now to give him lots of love and pets!!

Ryuji: Will do!

I put down my phone and up at Akira again. He was curled up into a large ball, his yellow eyes staring right up at me from the black abyss of his fur.

"I hope you don't mind if Ann comes over.. She wants to smother you in love..~" I tease him. I see his paws cover his face again, and his tail swish from left to right. I take a few more pictures for myself, and we wait for Ann to arrive. I reach my hand over and I begin to scratch under his chin. He starts purring again, and he lifts his head up for more pets.

I keep petting him until I hear a faint voice from downstairs. Ann then trots up the stairs happily and looks over at us. Her face brightens up and she runs over and begins to squish Akira's cheeks.

"Awww, you're so much cuter in person~!" She exclaims. Akira narrows his eyes at her and purrs more. His body relaxes and his tail swishes slowly. "I'm surprised Boss hasn't found out about this yet!"

"I'm sure he will if he comes up here and finds all this shedded cat hair all over the bed and floor.." I tease a bit. Akira let's out a soft meowing sound, which causes mine, Morgana's and Ann's eyes to widen. I take Akira from Ann and I hold him close.

"God, you're so effin' cute! I love you so much!!" Akira's face heats up again, and he covers his face in embarrassment. Ann lets out a few "aww"s at the two of us, and she takes out her phone and takes a few pictures. She begins to run her fingers through his hair, and his tail swishes happily.

This goes on for a few more more hours, and it finally comes to an end once Ann and I have to leave. Akira hasn't turned back yet, and his yellow eyes stare at me.

"You should turn back soon, dude.. You never know what Boss might do if he catches you like this.." I say. He lets out a soft meow, and leans up and licks me on the cheek. My face immediately turns a shade of red as his sandpaper tongue rubs against my skin. Ann squeals happily, and she takes some pictures. A dorky smile formed on my face, and I turn back to look at the werecat.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow at school.." I wave at him before heading down the stairs and out the door. "Hey Ann, could you send me one of those pics?" She looks at me and nods, and she pulls out her phone and sends me one of the photos. I look at it and smile, and I hold my phone close to my chest.

"You should confess that you love him at school tomorrow.. If you don't he might be confused on if you actually have a crush on him or not.." I smile and look away a bit.

"Maybe.." I say. I don't know when it'll happen again, but I could not wait to see the kitty cat side of him come out to play again.
