Daniel's POV

How much a person can change in one year? She looks nothing like herself. It seems like I am seeing a completely different person in front of my eyes, not the one whom I have known almost all my life.

Her eyes which always use to carry a spark like she up to something... now looks so empty. I hardly remember any time I have not seen a smile on her lips, however, those lips look like they don't even know what smile is.

She was my everything, but our relation couldn't stand the test of time. And we fall apart. Honestly, I never wanted this to happen but it looks like she has given up on me... on us.

Not even once she tried to reach out to me, while even I was blinded with my ego to extend my hand to her.

When I decided to make this trip back home, I never thought we would come face to face like this after being away for one year. I will not lie that I haven't thought about her at all in this past year. There were numerous times when I call her name in the empty room, just to remember the sound of her name. Just to feel the peace which her name brought in my heart, but it just made me more restless.

I can't stop myself from glancing her at, one year...one whole year I haven't seen her face and now when she is in front of me everything else seems meaningless.

She close to me, yet so far.

Seeing her made everything real, the pain, the hurt, the longing. The reality of the situation hits me with full force, what once we had is now no more.

We are nothing but two strangers who once promised their lives to each other. To hold each other's hand when the times demand, but unfortunately, circumstance drifted us apart.

When any relationship breaks, it is not the fault of one person. Both of the persons are somewhere the reason for the failure of their relationship.

If she was heartbroken, even I wasn't happy. If she was suffering, then my heart was also crying. I never wanted this to happen, however, even she didn't fight to save what we had. It was like there was nothing left for her in our marriage.

I swear if once she had told me that she still loved me, I would have done everything in my power to be with her.

Unfortunately, the love which we thought was our strength, was not strong enough to keep us together.
