"Oh crud muffin." Raven said grimacing.
"Oh." Lucas said stopping the car, as he looked at Raven flat on Leinster Gardens.
"By 'Oh', did you mean the huge crowd of news and television reporters or in 'Oh' for Raven's interesting choice of words?" Toby asked, laughing nervously.
"Both." Lucas answered, leaning back in his seat.
"All right, Toby, you cover your face with your coat and help me out. Lucas, you stay here and keep the engine running. Toby, as soon as I get out, you get back into the car. Lucas, you get out of here, don't let them see your faces. And if they follow, drive to the Thames, right about now it rush hour, you probably will lose anyone tailing you in the traffic." Raven ordered as she opened the door.
"Raven, are you sure?" Toby asked.
She simply nodded and pulled down her hoodie. Toby quickly got out of the car and helped Raven out. He handed her the crutches before rushing back into the car. The reporters turned and spotted both Raven and the car. Some rushed towards them. Lucas stepped on the gas pedal and drove off, followed by a couple of cars and white news vans. A couple of reporters ran up to Raven as she limped to her flat.
"Ms. Shadows, who were the people in the car?"
"What happened to your leg?"
"When is your official birthday?"
The questions we thrown at Raven as she tried to push the huge mass of bodies.
"Will you visit the new monument and grave sites for the victims of the Wales plane crash?" one tall brunette asked.
Raven skidded to a halt at the base of a small stair-case leading up to the door of redemption. She turned slowly, her shoulders stiff, her lips pressed tight.
"Hello. Jessica Brides, I am the reporter that texted you about a meeting." The brunette said with a satisfied and overconfident smile.
A couple of reports started yelling questions, and request for the number.
"Quit!" Raven yelled.
The crowd fell silent.
"One at a time." Raven said clenching her teeth.
"Will you visit the newly built monument and grave site for the plane crash victims?" Jessica asked again.
Raven was silent for a short moment. A couple of photographers snapping pictures.
"How about I as you a couple of questions? What took them so long? Why did it take them almost fifteen years to even remember the lives lost in that plane crash? To remember that nothing marks the place of their death. No more questions." Raven finished, then started up the stairs, the questions continued to be bombarded at her back.
Raven quickly unlocked the door, and slammed the door in the faces of pursuing reporters. Raven wasn't satisfied until she heard the reassuring sound of the lock sliding into place. Raven placed her crutches near the door and limped away. She shrugged off her hoodie and threw her backpack into the open closet. She covered all the windows with the dark heavy curtains insuring her privacy from prying eyes. Raven's phone ran, she hesitantly took it out of her pocket and answered it.
"Raven! Are you o.k.?! Please don't tell us that we have to be the cavalry to save you from the clutches of an angry mob!?" two voices yelled in unison.
