I opened my eyes and was bombarded with light. I had to blink a few times until my vision became clear. The ceiling was the first thing I saw, its white façade was staring back at me. I turned to my side and was met with the face of a man, about my age, his name is Arian. I knew him. His dark hair lay over his face like soft feathers. I wanted to run my hands across his face and awake him, but I didn't. I admired his sleeping body until his eyes fluttered open as if someone commanded him to do so. He stared at me as if he knew me too, as if I was his and he was mine. Everything is so foggy in my mind, but I knew, somehow I knew that we belonged to each other. We belong to each other. No matter what may have happened in the past, I know that he and I have today and tomorrow and every other day afterwards. Somehow I know. I don't know how I know or where these feelings and thoughts have came from, but I am happy to have them. I am happy to have Arian and I know he feels the same.
"Hi." Arian says to me. He still stares into my eyes and I stare into his.
"Hi." I reply. He places his hand in the space between us and I move my hand on top of his.
Our day has just begun. Our life has just begun.
