Kaminari was taking deep breaths as he stood outside shinsos door. He could hear shigarakis taunts to the teenager, and he could hear the teen yelling back, he could also hear the cracking of his voice.

"kaminari" he heard Dabis voice and jumped, letting out a muffled yap as he slapped his hands over his mouth.

"yes- yes dabi" he blinked away his thoughts and looked up. There was a sort of soothing gentleness in the tall mans usually cold eyes.

"You miss him..." he sighed "right?" He shook his head slightly, and kaminari didn't understand why dabi was being so... quiet? Nice sounding?

"No! Of course not-" he snapped back, forcing himself to look as if he didn't care about the most important person in his life.

"Yknow there's no shame in it. It's hard to fight people you have connections with" his eyes glowed with understanding and Kaminari thought that he could sense a bit of pity and hurt in the hazy looking expression.

"how would you know... you always talk about hating everything and everyone, you haven't..." kaminari stopped at dabis sharp gaze, and they could both now hear shinso and shigaraki yelling once more.

"I have someone at ua I would never want to fight either" he admitted, shrugging "he doesn't know that I'm related to him though" kaminari stiffened as he noticed the longing look in the mans eyes, and he couldn't hear the muffled yells anymore. everything was quiet for a moment, shigaraki and shinsos voices becoming quieter in the other room.

"Who..." he whispered

"my brother" dabi smiled "ah, it doesn't matter though. I'm just saying, I won't tell shigaraki anything if you decide to sneak shinso out of this place"

Kaminari instantly widened his eyes "so... I can help him escape" dabi nodded, then kaminari grew curious...

"Who's your brother..." kaminaris voice lowered, and he flinched under dabis cold gaze.

"shoto..." he whispered, looking distant.

"As in... Todoroki-"

"M.. I've never gotten into my past with the league for these reasons.." he mumbled "my name used to be touya Todoroki... it was so long ago" dabi shook his head, his expression guarded, not inviting any more questions.

"Anyways, I might even help you let your little boyfriend escape" he mumbled hesitantly, now avoiding eye contact.

"Really" kaminari whispered in disbelief

"Yeah.."

"Thank you, dabi"

"yeah whatever" the man grumbled, rolling his eyes.
