Why?

" Alana! " My best friend Alaska called. She ran toward me with a look of regret in her eyes. I probably looked like an idiot. Curled up in the corner of the bathroom bawling my eyes out. "Hun, whats wrong." Alaska asked. " Kate was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. " I said in almost a whisper. Kate was my 23 year old sister and she had been sick for a while now. " I just cant take it anymore. " I cried. " Aw. Alana come here. " She pulled me into a tight hug. " Come on lets go get you cleaned up. " She said. Alaska pulled me up and pulled out her makeup. " Should we go for innocent school girl, or wild party girl ? " She asked. We both started cracking up." Just work your magic! " I replied. After about 3 minutes we were headed to my locker. I put in my combo and opened. I didnt notice but something fell out. " Alana " Alaska said as if she was paralized. " What " I questioned thinking she would probably scold me for not doing my homework or something. " Who else did you tell about Kate other than me? " She said in shock. " No one... " I mumbled as i ripped the paper out of her hand. " Your sisters dying. You're crying. Thats not the only thing I know. " I whispered under my breath. " Alana we need to take this to the principle. " She said as if on que. " no. " I said not wanting to believe what I just read. " Its probably just someone that overheard me talking to you and wanted to scare us. Its fine. " " I dont know Lana. Are you sure? " She asked. " Ya. Everything is going to be ok. " I didnt know if I was trying to convince her or myself. And ever since that day, my whole life has started tumbling down. ///// AUTHORS NOTE ///// Hey guys! this is my very first story and therefore its probably horrible!
