My heart hammered against my chest as I took an unsteady step towards the edge. I daringly dangled my trembling right leg over the cliff, letting it hang suspended in the ocean breeze. I took a shallow breath in.
I'd been planning this event for a while, the day I'd leave this dreadful world behind. I don't need them, and they don't want me. They never did.
My dull brown hair fluttered across my face. I took another precautious step towards the edge, peering at the jagged rocks 100's of meters below. My hands trembled at my sides as the ground beneath me crumbled, sending gravel tumbling down the rock face. I closed my eyes and counted myself down, empty tears dragging down my cheeks.
I leant forward, giving in to gravity, my life flashing before my eyes. I suddenly whack into the ground, much quicker than I expected. I opened my eyes, I wasn't dead.
