Chapter 1 making new friends

One day Ariel walked into Seneca Valley Intermediate High School and saw a girl at her locker. It was the first day and two guys were trying to ask her out and she was trying to tell them no. Then Ariel walked up to them. "Hey, didn't you hear her? She said no." Ariel said. "I think it's time for someone to be taught a lesson." Johnathan Macintyre said. Then Ariel showed them some moves she learned from her tae-kwon-do class. "Maybe we'll teach you that lesson some other time." Johnathan said before him and Dominic walked away. "Thanks, that was really great." Virginia said. "Sure, I'll see you later." Ariel said. Then she started to walk away when Virginia stopped her. "Hey, I'm Virginia. You're new around here, aren't you?" Virginia asked. "Yeah, I'm Ariel." Ariel said. Then they shook hands with each other. "Hey do you want to get together with some of us after school, you know nothing major, just like to hang out at the community park?" Virginia asked. "Yeah, that would be good. I'll see you later." Ariel said. Later that day as Ariel was walking to the community park something else came up so Ariel went home to take care of it. The next day at school Virginia walked up to Ariel while she was at her locker. "Hey, why didn't you come to the park yesterday?" Virginia asked. "Something came up." Ariel said. "Well you should have let me know." Virginia said. "Sorry, it's just, it was really important, okay?" Ariel said. "Okay, just next time, make sure to let me know if something else comes up." Virginia said. "Let there not be a next time." Ariel said with a laugh. Then John walked up to them. "Hey Virginia, who is that girl you're with?" John asked. "John, this is Ariel, she's new here." Virginia said. "Okay, can you guys meet me after school today?" John asked. "Actually, I have a best buddies meeting after school today, so I can't make it today." Ariel said. "Okay, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then." John said. Then he walked away. Ariel got a crush on him. "Looks like someone is in love with him." Virginia said with a laugh. "What, are you saying that I have a crush on him?" Ariel asked. "Come on, I can tell that you like him." Virginia said. "N-no, I don't like him. I could just be friends with him." Ariel said. "I know that you like him because you were studdering." Virginia said. "Whatever, I have to get to class." Ariel said before walking away. Throughout the day Ariel couldn't stop thinking about John. What she didn't know was that John has a crush on her and he couldn't stop thinking about her. The next day Jacob and Joe saw her at her locker. "Hey, isn't that the new girl that everyone else is talking about?" Joe asked. "Yeah, that's her. How about we introduce ourselves to her? She looks like a nice person." Jacob said. Then they walk up to her. "Hi, I'm Jacob and this is Joe. Who are you?" Jacob said. "I'm Ariel, it's nice to meet you." Ariel said. "It's nice to meet you too." Joe said. The next day Ariel was walking to her gym class when she ran into Brent. "Hey, I'm Brent." Brent said. "Hi, I'm Ariel, it's nice to meet you." Ariel said. The next day Ariel has been doing a lot of things around where she lived and went out for some runs. While she was out on her run she ran into John. "Hey." John said. "Hey." Ariel said. "How was your first week?" John asked. "Super." Ariel said. "You really should think about taking this hobby into the soccer team. I could sign you up. What do you think?" John said. "Way to take all the fun out of it." Ariel said before continuing on her run. The next day they had tryouts for cheerleading, track and field, soccer, and color guard. Ariel tried out for the soccer team and made the soccer team. The soccer team met every two weeks on Tuesday. Virginia made the cheerleading squad. The next day at school Ariel noticed that there were going to be tryouts for the swim team and since John liked to swim Ariel thought that John was going to tryout for the swim team, which he did and got on the swim team. The next day as Ariel was at her locker her new friends came up to her. "So what are you guys doing for summer vacation?" Ariel asked. "I'm just going to hang out at home." Virginia said. "Same here." John said. "That's what I'm going to be doing." Ariel said. Jacob and Joe were going to hang out at home too. "I'm going to New York City." Brent said. "That's going to be so cool. I was at New York City one time with my dad and my brother." Ariel said. "Okay, I was thinking about checking out the caboose motel." Virginia said. "The caboose motel is cool because you get to sleep in a caboose that is no longer running on the train tracks with trains." Ariel said. A few days after summer vacation started Ariel and her family went to the trolley museum in Washington, PA. Over the summer Ariel stayed in contact with all of her new friends. She also went out for some runs when the weather was nice and practiced some soccer skills in the backyard to keep in training for the soccer team. Ariel was excited about being the captain for the high school soccer team for the upcoming school year. Ariel had a schedule for the games for the upcoming school year and found out that the first game was against the North Allegheny Tigers. Later that night Ariel was talking to her friends on the phone. "The first game is against North Allegheny." Ariel said. "They are a good team. We'll be cheering you guys on." Virginia said. "Well that should be easy for you because you are on the cheerleading squad." Ariel said. The next day Ariel was helping her brother with making sure that he had everything that they needed for summer camp. It was the last week in July and since the weather was nice Ariel decided to go for a run. When she got to wood street park she decided to take a break.
