Jellal's PoV

We had just had the meeting for what was going to happen. Nami gave all attending the barest knowledge of what we needed to do. We were leaving at dawn tomorrow to an isolated magic vault. We had an airship that we were flying to there because of the distance, we had to go to another country for this mission. It was on an island surrounded by a navy force and soldiers around the vault. All of this to get a crown. It had magic but to what extent? How did the rest of the world not know about this?

I was sent back to my prison cell after the meeting. It seems that I'm still not trusted to be around Nami's palace. I sighed and ran my hands through my hair. It seemed impossible, the whole plan is. But I couldn't risk Erza being hurt. I had to do this to keep Erza safe.

As I lay on my bed scenarios ran through my head: a future with Erza, what would happen if I failed, past times with Erza, the Fairy Tail guild, what it would be like to join them. It seemed like only minutes have passed when the I heard the locks on my door being undone. I sat up from where I was laying on the ground as the door swung open with great force. It was none other than Nami.

"Get up." She was looking irritated and not happy to be up at this hour to get a prisoner.

I scrambled to my feet and took a step forward.

"It's time, follow me. I will have a change of clothes brought to you. But remember this," her tone was dark and she faced me with a threatening look on her face, "one toe out of line and Erza will be hurt severely."

"Understood." I sounded calm and stoic but my head was screaming that I couldn't let her do this. That she didn't have this control or power. I knew this was wrong but I didn't have any other choice.

"And you will listen to what my advisors tell you. They will be in charge. You could be replaced just as much as anyone else could. Even Scarlet could be replaced, although it would be hard to find another like her. But there are more powerful and more willing people who could be here instead."

I gulped at what she was implying. "Of course... but let's clear one thing up. I'm doing this for Erza, not you. I could care less if this whole place burned to the ground, but Erza will stay safe."

Nami grinned a frightful smile. "You think it's that simple? Just my castle staying away from the world and you being able to walk out the same?" Her tone was low and sent chills through my body. "You don't know what's in store for you. There is worse than you could ever imagine."

She faced forward and kept walking, expecting me to follow as I did. This girl... was absolutely terrifying. She walked with confidence and grace that looked surreal. Her dark hair was still unnaturally perfectly in place. This girl, was a different kind of person entirely. I doubted that she was even human.

As she walked I just looked at the ground in front of me, blindly following the most powerful mage I have ever met. We walked in silence as she glided effortlessly across the multiple hallways that we went through. A flash of red caught my eye and I turned to see it was just a door. But still.. What if beyond that door, was my Scarlet? I sighed, how pathetic could I get?

She stopped in front of a plain wooden door that was slightly worn with age. The dark colored wood was chipped and the door knob was an old and rusty copper. Nami stared at the door and it creaked open.

"A few minutes. Then your clothes will be brought and a servant will stay be the door to lead you to the airship you will be riding to the destination." Her voice was cool and devoid of emotion. She was not one to be tested.

"Of course." I hesitated and walked through the door after deciding not to ask what I was thinking. It wasn't worth it.

"Oh, and Jellal?" My name rolled off her tongue with a sweetness like honey but had a twinge of bitterness. "Don't mess up." She walked away, her footsteps making no noise on her marble floors in the hallway.

My face drained of color as I realized that there was no going back. A knock on the door startled me as I turned around and saw a servant girl with chains around her ankles and a pile of clothes in her arms. Her face was dirty and smudged with grime, she had on a maid's dress that was covered in soot and ash was streaked through her already silvery hair. She held out the stack of clothes which I took with a bewildered expression on my face.

I closed the door and pulled off my dirt covered clothes and put on the ones Nami gave me. They were nice. A black t-shirt, a pair of soft pants, and a dark blue waistcoat to go over it. Something similar to what I had been wearing before.

As I finished putting on the new outfit and expected myself, the servant girl knocked again. "Sir? Are you finished?" I opened the door and walked out to see that her waiting patiently. "I am to escort you to the ship. Please come." She bowed her head before walking off in a direction I didn't bother to remember. She stopped in front of a large set of wooden doors and bowed before scurrying off again. I took a shaky breath and braced myself before pushing the doors open and seeing the most beautiful ship I had ever seen.

It was dark wood with gold and silver vines. It was painted a silvery blue and shimmered in this light. Magic power radiated from it like a wave of something strong. I couldn't help but stare at the boat in amazement.

"Blue! Get your head out of the gutter and board the ship!" A voice rang out from above and I saw Snow on the mast of the ship. Doing as she said, I climbed the ramp up and stood on the deck, still taking in all that made this ship the beauty it was.

"Next stop, magic prison!" She yelled out again and the feeling of regret slowly crept back into me. No going back Jellal.
