A/N: Sorry for being late again

Warning: maybe one swear word I don't remember.

"W-wait, not kill him?" She frowned, her heart hammering in her chest.

What had they done?

"We've identified the source of the mole," Rei started, clearing his throat.

"Mmh hmm," she paled.

"It's someone within the company, his movements are determined by ours which, because of our secrecy-"

"Suggests someone is working with us." She finished, praising herself for sounding confident.

"I've put your best friend on the case." He chuckled.

"Don't." (Y/N) retorted bitterly.

"Anyway, I just want you to keep an eye out, tell me what's happening to see how quicky they react, I also don't want you attending any meetings. You'll be distracted otherwise, I also don't want the other board members being suspicious of you, I have faith in you." Chewing nervously on her lower lip, she heard a cry in the phone.

"SHUT UP!" A loud smack could be heard as well.

"Rei?" She gulped.

"Sorry, just *interrogating* one of ours." The man answered, her stomach dropped, "I'll call you back soon."

Almost robotically, the phone was placed on the table as she slowly sat down on a chair.

"(Y/N), what's wrong?" Nobunaga's eyes knitted together.

"They're- uh, torturing someone." The woman couldn't meet his gaze.

It wasn't supposed to happen this way. A firm hand was placed on her shoulder.

"Quit sulking will you? It's not your fault." Ieyasu rolled his eyes.

"It's true," it was Masamune who was who was slowly massaging her shoulder.

"No one was supposed to get hurt! They're hurting people that were in the same situation as I am and they haven't done anything! It's my fault all of this is happening to them!" Her outburst didn't really surprise anyone in the room. It was bound to happen.

"The question is whether this treatment is worth it in order for you to free them." Mitushide's tone was playful, mismatching the look in his eyes.

She didn't answer.

Nobunaga sighed, sitting down on the couch, deep in thought.

"What now, my lord?"

"We'll need to think about it overnight, everyone, we're heading back." The raven haired stood up, jaw clenched and eyes glazed over still in his thoughts.

"What about me?" (Y/N) blocked his way.

"Give us a few days." he murmured, walking outside and towards one of the black SUVs. The woman watched in disbelief, mouth agape and desperate look on her face.

Mitsuhide released a satisfied hum as he passed by her, eyeing her gobsmack expression. Probably the cutest thing he's seen on her so far.

"Don't worry, I'll text you tomorrow when I'm there about what you should report back with." Hideyoshi patted her head reassuringly, "just get some sleep for now." was all he said before following his lord out.

The double agent watched as the Oda forces left, the SUVs driving off from the sandy path that she had called her driveway before disappearing among the trees.

A sigh escaped her lips before her gaze tore to something warm that was cuddling against her leg.

"You hungry, bud?" grasping under his stomach, she lifted the furball in her arms as it mewled pleadingly, "okay baby, let's get you fed," she kissed the black cat's forehead before closing the door, unaware of the eyes that watched her.

"Should we make our move, master?" a man whispered.

"Not yet, we will strike when she's at her most vulnerable and get rid of what's left of the Oda forces wait until she's in the most vulnerable situation possible. Her firm will start a war with both forces and we'll finish off what's left of Nobunaga." a sad, crooked smile appeared on the man's lips before he turned away from the house.

"Mitsuhide, I suspect you've already looked into this issue." Nobunaga spared a glance his way.

"Yes, I suggest we send in Kenshin's skilled ninja to spy on them and report to us to throw them completely off of our little princess' lead. Plus if he dies, shame on them, we won't lose anything and it we'll deal with that problem problem when it arises." the kitsune concluded.

"Maybe we should take their wellbeing into account given we have a truce, Lord Mitsuhide," Mitsunari chipped in.

"Nah, it's fine, I'm sure they're doing the same with us." Masamune laid back in his seat.

"My lord, we can't-"

"I agree with Mitsuhide," Nobunaga interrupted his vassal, "although the ninja might become useful afterwards so we'll need to give him the blueprints of the building."

A frustrated sigh escaped her as she watched their infrared outline from a rooftop right beside their warehouse. The woman glanced at the activity outside the warehouse as well, the numerous civilians that were minding their own business, unbeknownst to them of the criminals it accommodated.

They were all sitting around a table discussing god knows what. It made her incredibly anxious. She really needed to know.

The day went agonisingly slowly as she jotted down notes every now and again on her notepad before it had already started to become dark. Packing up the foldable chair, her equipment in her black bag, and her gun and few daggers, she crouched down on the rooftop, crawling to the fire escape and rapidly getting back to ground level.

Today was a success as far as she knew, slowly she reached into her side pocket for her car keys.

But she froze.

The man was leaning against her car, taking a drag from a half consumed cigarette. He had been staring at the ground but once he heard her footsteps halt a little away from him, his eyes glanced up to meet her nervous ones. Her tough exterior washed over moments after.

"Good day to you."

"What are you doing here?" (Y/N)'s eyes narrowed.
