BRIAN'S POV:

Here I was working at the record store with Roger and Freddie laughing together before my eyes. Great way to start the shift. Trying to ignore the sight in front of me, I sorted a small amount of records to put into piles and place on their designated shelves.

What was so great about this Freddie anyway? He's so gay...cliche gay. Not that I have a problem with certain gays....I just didn't like this specific one. Do I have to remind you that I'm gay? I tried to avoid making contact with the two guys, awkwardly sorting the records until Tim grabbed my shoulder.

"Hey! Any Led Zeppelin come in yet?" He impatiently asked.

I sighed, "No Tim. If their album was here I would be screaming."

"Is that sarcasm I sense?"

"No, surprisingly."

"Ditto." I gave him an annoyed look and he raised his arms in defence, "Why you so angry these days? You alright?"

"Lack of sleep, I guess." I weakly chuckled. He pat my back and gave me a warm smile which I returned.

"Well, see ya Bri!" He threw on his jacket and left the store, leaving me alone once again. I waved goodbye and continued with my work.

"I think I'm going to be getting this one today, darling." A voice interrupted me from the front of the counter. Freddie. Roger stood next to me, smiling away. Almost flirtatious yet somehow innocent. I smiled back at him- he was so cute. I can't believe how gullible he is though. How could he even stand his 'friend'. I averted my gaze to Freddie which made my smile fall drastically. He handed me the record single, 'Make It Easy On Yourself' by The Walker Brothers. It was hard not to roll my eyes.

"Just this one today?" I said in a cheerful voice.

"Yes thanks." His teeth. It was hard not to look at them but, they were huge. I had to swallow my words every time I saw them. They suited him, I guess. However, they were more noticeable than someone shaving their hair off. "After your shift why don't you come visit Rog and I?"

I didn't know what to say, he was licking his lips and had a flirtatious smirk. I thought Roger told him that he likes me? I glanced at Roger and sure enough, his head was down and he 'wasn't paying attention'.  I wonder how I'll get rid of Freddie.

"I'd love to catch up with Roger!" I exclaimed. What a fucking bitch- doing that to your best friend!? I saw Freddie's sly smirk drop and Rogers lips do the opposite. "Where will I find you?"

"I'll write down my address." Roger gladly butted in. I did a subtle glare at Freddie which he definitely noticed. Now Freddie was the quiet one. Roger winked as I did a small nod in response then the two men walked out the store.

Thankfully the telephone rang, interrupting me before my thoughts could even begin.

"Groovy Records; this is Brian speaking." I hummed.

"BRIAN, MY BABY!" I pulled the phone away from me as the loud screeching could fuck me up.

"Hi Mum..." She never rang often, thats why I gave her the work cell.

"How are you?"

"Tryna' find stuff to do. What about you?" I half-laughed into the phone, looking around the store. A few customers were scattered about.

"Well, I wanted to ask a favour..."

"Mhm?"

"The family is doing a get together, your aunties and uncles, cousins are all going. Uncle Michael and Aunty Jer just got back from their honeymoon and you haven't met Jers's son yet. Since she's new to the family, I'd like for you to get to know her, love. Her son's your age. His name is Farrokh. She said he prefers the name Freddie, though." She cackled. I had only met Jer once and I never see the family. I guess it would be nice- maybe this kid's nice.

"Sounds good, Mum. When is it?"

"Next week, Thursday. I can come pick you up."

"Sweet. Let me know what time, yeah?"

"I'll give you a call and let you know. Met any boys yet?"

Okay, heres the thing. I just came out to my mum. I gave her almost my whole life story- how I was never that interested in girls and forced myself to like them. I was just honest, really. Although, my Mum's always been understanding I never thought she would be so supportive about my sexuality. She gets excited being able to talk about boys with me. I've never been close with her but, we've always understood each other. I'm surprised she hasn't blurted it out to my father yet.

"Ehhh...."

"Who!?" She exclaimed, almost immediately. I laughed at her a little.

"Just this guy I jammed with the other day."

"Description?"

I did a long sigh into the phone which made her squeal- she really was a teenager deep down, "Blonde long hair, blue doughy eyes, small-ish, funny, sarcastic and really nice."

"Sounds like someone has a crush." She sang into the phone, "He sounds cute, Brian."

"Yeah, he is quite nice. Anyway, got to go, about to serve a customer."

"Bye, love. I'll pick you up next week for the party!"

"Okay, bye Mum." I hung up and served the next customer.

Maybe I should have a sticky-beak at Roger's later.
