Chapter 6

-Rydel's POV-

The radio interviews aren’t that bad. Granted they have to translate everything for us, and the middle-aged host kept on hitting on me. Ratliff keeps getting frustrated for some reason whenever it happens. He’s been acting really weird around me lately.

Anyways, tonight is the show here in Paris and then tomorrow is my date with Harry. Well he doesn’t want to call it a date, more like a hang out.

“Rydel?” The host asks me.

“Yes?”

“Il semble comme si vous étiez hors de la, euhh, La La Land.”

“He said ‘It seems like you were off in La La land,’” Our translator says.

“Oh no, I was just thinking of something I had to do later,” I reply.

“Oh, non? Est-ce avec un quelqu'un de spécial?” He asked.

“He asked if it was with someone special,” she translated again.

“No, I just can’t wait to perform and then to touristy things later.”

“Ahh, avez-vous l'intention d'aller à la Tour d’Eiffel?”

“Are you going to go to the Eiffel Tower?” She translates.

“Seeing the Eiffel Tower is must while we’re here in Paris,” I respond.

“It’s the City of Love, you don’t know who you might fall in love with,” Ratliff says. “It could be literally anyone. I find that so exciting about this city, that and all the people walking. It’s like New York City a little bit.”

It went on and on for a couple more hours, I would be asked some questions, some from the fans, and others from our host. Finally we leave the radio building, and we’re greeted with hundreds of screams. Security has us duck into a van and we’re off to our venue. We get dressed for the night, mom does my hair, and I finish up my makeup. After mom was finished with my hair, she had to go and do Ross’, since he still needs help getting it “just perfect.”

While we wait for the VIP fans to come in, Rocky strums on his guitar working with Riker on a new song. This one will probably be more rebellious because of the recent events. I have no probably with that because I kinda miss our old sound. Ross is on his phone playing a game, Ratliff is doing a Q&A on Twitter for our fans, and me, well, I’m staring at my phone, trying to fight the urge to text Harry.

“It’s go time,” Dad says. We get ready and line up. Ratliff stands on the end right next to me, and on my other side is Riker. We go through all of the wonderful fans, taking a picture with each one. Sometimes, we would do funny poses with them. Then we did our sound check with Q&A time.

After we went off stage, I couldn’t deal anymore; I needed to text Harry.

“Hey! How are you doing today?” I texted him.

I waited a minute or two for a response, but it never came. I had promised myself that I would not sit there forever, for a person I hardly knew. Then I heard,”Delly! Get over it’s concert time!” I head over to where my siblings and best friend were located by the door in the green room. “Okay guys, go out there and rock the socks off of them!” Riker says over the chanting of the fans. “On three! One, two, three!”

“Ready! Set! Rock!” We all yell. Rocky and Ross get their guitars on, and Riker his bass. Rocky starts the intro and Ratliff runs out to his drum set and picks up the beat. Then I run out to my keyboard, and start my harmonies. Next is Rocky, then Riker, and lastly Ross. The crowd goes wild for Ross. I feel like those three get the most attention. Ell and I could be doing the most despicable thing on stage, and yet, the fans would not even notice.
