{The woman had been sitting there the whole time and she runs over to me, "Who was that, is your face okay?" She looked genuinely worried.

I blink a few times, "Who are you?"}

*Katy's POV*

I give her a smile, "hi Piper my name is Katy" I assumed her name was Piper after what that other woman came in shouting. Her eyes look deep into mine, she looked confused as to why I knew her name, yet she looked like she was trying to work out who I was.

"Hello Katy, I'm really sorry about um Madi" she looks uncomfortable talking about who ever this Madi was.

"It's okay you don't have to talk about it, how does your head feel?"

I see her lips change from the frown she woke up with turn into a small smile. She has a lovely smile I think to myself. I start to focus on all the beautiful features of her face. She was so effortlessly perfect.

"It hurts a lot more than before." Her voice was still dull yet she sounded in pain.

"Let me call a nurse for you." I get up to go get a nurse.

"NO!" She grabs my arm it wasn't very tight but she wasn't supposed to move it.

"Hey calm down they aren't going to hurt you." I lift her hand from my wrist, "you'll be okay they can just give you some pain relief."

"Why are you here, I don't know if I'm supposed to remember you but I want to."

I sigh, "My car hit yours last night, I am so sorry Piper I wasn't watching the road I had so many other things on my mind." I knew she would hate me after this.

She just lies there looking at me speak not saying anything. Her lips part and she speaks in a tone I cant quite pick up on what she's thinking, "Katy, that's what you said your name was right?" Her face was going pale and a red hand print had formed a bruise across her right cheek. I nod at her waiting for her to continue.

"C..c.can you-" Pipers hand lifts to touch my face her hand was cold, I place my hand on hers she was thin and I could definitely feel her bones.

"What is it?" My eyes look desperately into hers. I bite my lip pondering if I should continue with what my mind was telling me.

Piper's eyes look away from me and towards the door where there was a nurse wheeling a table in with what looked like food on it. She removes her hand away from my face and places it back on her stomach.

"Hi." The nurse smiles sweetly, 'how are you feeling, I'm sure you must be hungry its been nearly 12 hours you've been in here."

"Actually I'm fine, not hungry at all." Her response was quick like she'd said it before.

"You had to undergo quite a lot of surgery on your head it would be best to eat." The nurse seemed worried. The tray of food was placed on the bed and as she walks out I hear her whisper, "please make sure she eats." Before leaving the room.

Piper just stares at the tray she was staring so deeply, it was only a sandwich but she looked so disgusted by it.

I sigh pulling a chair closer to the bed and sitting down.

*Piper's POV*

Katy sits next to me on a chair. I have no idea who she is why is she being so nice to me. She's never met me before. I don't deserve this not someone to be this kind and loving towards someone she had never met.

I can smell the food from the tray on my lap, I feel sick. I slowly push the tray away from me.

Katy watches me move the tray and her hand quickly reaches out stopping me from pushing it too far. "What's going on? I know we have only just met but I have a feeling that you want to talk." Her smile was sweet but her eyes had fear in them.

"I'm not hungry Katy and there isn't much to talk about you saw it for yourself." I was being bitter I shouldn't speak to her like this she was only trying to help. "I'm sorry, I just I don't know whats going on. I'm scared of her. I shouldn't be so rude to you, you wouldn't know." "ugh!" I groan and small tears fall down my cheeks. I'm not a mean person I'm not.

"Hey hey hey hey calm down" Katy's arms appear around my back she held me tight. It felt so strange someone holding me close. It had been a long time since someone had hugged me. I liked it, a sense of  security of safety.

*Katy's POV*

There was a small whimper and I look up and see the pain in her eyes. My eyes start to water, what has she been through.

"It's okay. Its all going to be okay" I wipe the tears from her cheeks. "Do you have anywhere to go when you get out?"

She shakes her head, "no one."

"Mom? Dad? Any brothers or sisters?" She starts crying harder this time her breathing gets staggered. "Okay shh it's okay, while you were asleep the doctor said you would be allowed out in a few days maybe a week." I take a deep breath, "you can come back and live with me if youd like?"

I watch her eyes scan my face looking for signs of dishonesty in my voice. After her long stare she starts to talk, "are you being serious you'd let me stay with you?" The amount of emotion that had just been placed in that sentence through her voice had me in awe. Her gratitude, her sorrow, they way she processes information with her eyes.

"Of course I am being serious" I give her a warm smile to assure her.

"T..thank you."

"It's fine honestly its all I can do."

"I can't imagine how long you've been here you can go home get some sleep I'm sure that people are wondering where you are."

"Will you be okay here?"

"I'm not moving anywhere" a small giggle come from my mouth and Katy's nose crinkles her smile was so beautiful.

"I'll see you tomorrow, have some food." she points at the tray as she starts to head towards the door. As she opens the glass door I hear one last thing from her, "I love your smile I'll have to make sure I can keep it around" and with that she was gone.
