*Pipers POV*

**Three Weeks Later**

Katy has been coming in to see me everyday it was really nice to have someone always there to see me. We spoke a lot about her strict Christian upbringing and how much she loved to sing, she even sang a few songs for me her voice was so beautiful almost angelic. She said that she had written the songs herself but no one had heard these ones yet. Her voice showed so much talent I told her a few times she should go to a record company and try to get signed. Her facial expressions after were always really strange like she thought I was crazy or something but I didn’t take much notice.

“Katy!” My smile was wide and I reach out my arms to hug the beautiful woman I have formed such a close bond with over the past three weeks.

“Hey Piper!” Katy holds me in a tight hug I can smell her perfume, it was a sweet frangipani scent she wore it every time she came to see me. I stand up after letting go of Katy, “whoa whoa whoa! What are you doing?” I could tell she was worried.

“Its okay the doctors have been helping me regain strength in my left leg, look” I take a few small steps they were a bit wobbly but the second I start to fall Katy’s arms were there straight away she held onto my hands and walked backwards letting me continue walking. Our hands touch and I look straight into Katy’s eyes she giggles and I start to laugh myself.

“Okay lets sit down now.” I say still giggling. We sit down on the two chairs near the window I lean my hands on the windowsill looking outside. There is a moment of silence where my mind starts to wonder away from this hospital room and imagining how nice it would be to be able to walk outside again.

“Piper, Piper, Piper. Hey can you hear me? Piper?” My mind goes back to reality feeling Katy tapping my shoulder and saying my name repeatedly. “You okay?”

“Yeah sorry I was just imagining what it would be like to be back out in the sunshine.”

“Well I have some good news about that.” Her smile was sweet and wide.

“What do you mean?”

“You get out tomorrow!” she squeals from excitement.

I laugh at her reaction to her own news. “Are you serious?”

“Super serious. A nurse told me on my way in.”

My smile had never been bigger I was finally going to see the sun not just from leaning against a windowsill. Be able to feel its warmth on my skin.

Katy smiles Just as wide back at me, “so do you want me to help you pack up all your clothes?”

“Yeah that would be really helpful thank you Katy.” I stand up again.

“No no no no, sit back down Missy I don't need you working too hard and not being able to get out tomorrow.” Katy says rushing over to me and helping me back into the chair.

I felt like such a baby I couldn’t do anything Katy was with me every day she probably had a job that she was supposed to be at yet she’s here helping me, the helpless one. I wish I could walk properly and help her pack she was doing so much for me and I just felt like I was in her way.

“So are we still on for you to come back to mine for a while?” Katy turns around folding one of my t-shirts.

“Only if that’s okay with you I don’t want to be any trouble.”

“I suggested it of course its no trouble.” She goes back to folding clothes from the drawers and into my bag.

"If you're okay with it then I'll definitely stay a while."
