"Our land didn't always look this way," Vitreus said, looking up into Nevara's eyes.

"We used to have separate tribes, with separate territories for each one. Instead of Queens and Kings, we had only Queens. There were no nests, just open space."

Nevara crinkled her snout in confusion. "If we used to have tribes, then what happened? Now, it's more like we just hatch looking like whatever we happen to look like."

Vitreus nodded. "I'll get to that. I don't remember it exactly, but some events happened regarding the No-Wings and the dragon tribes. It's a little fuzzy, but somehow it resulted in some sort of war that began to harm the actual earth that we lived on.

"All of the dragon tribes voted in making nests. It started as one nest for each tribe, but gradually, the dragons began mingling between the nests. That's why we look the way we do."

Vitreus sighed, staring off into the horizon. The sun was just disappearing behind it, making way for the moon and the stars in the almost visible night sky.

"I think," He continued, and Nevara stared back at him again. "I'm the last pure Crystal dragon. My family and I were the only ones of us left, and then the hurricane came, blowing us all out to sea. I was the only one who got stranded on the island where Ocean found me."

Nevara hung her head, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry I didn't come looking for you the minute I thought you were gone," she said, playing with her talons.

"It's just...Deep and Tala, they're my friends too, and...being torn, I made a weird decision..."

Vitreus smiled at her. "It's okay. I know they're the whole reason we went to the Violet Nest in the first place. You deserve to see your friends again."

Nevara nodded. "But you deserve to see your family. If you survived, I'm sure there's a high chance your family did too."

She paid no attention to how Vitreus was shaking his head. "Once we stop Viridi, I promise Vitreus, we'll find them. I'll find them."

"I think it would be best if we focus on one adventure at a time, please."

"Point taken."

Vitreus stared at the moon. "You know, I think I know a dragon that might be able to help us more than Queen Colubra ever could."

"You mean, every other dragon in the galaxy?"

"Nope. Although, fair point. Her house is just off the shoreline of the Rolling Stones River. If we follow it, we'll eventually get to her."

Nevara looked at the ground, seeing the small strip of the river so far below her. "I hope this works," she said to Vitreus, dipping down her wings and flying lower to get a closer look at the shoreline.

Because if this doesn't, I might have to take on Viridi myself.

And just the thought of that is kind of scaring me.
