Sting was sitting at a table close to the front of the guild, Minerva was sitting next to him talking about a mission she recently took. But what she didn't know was that once again, Sting was only half listening to her. He was focusing on something he hasn't been able to take his eyes off of since the day they met. Mackenzie Jones. And he was secretly hoping one day it would be Mackenzie Eucliffe. She was playing cards with Yukino. Yukino said something to her and Mack looked over catching Sting before he could look away. She smiled a happy smile, half laughing. She locked eyes with him and he felt heat rush to his face, she smiled again and turned back to her game. Mack stood a little while later and started her way over to Sting. Sting couldn't help but see how the way Mack dressed, laughed smiles, talked even the way she walked, that she builds herself up knowing she'll break. But she does it anyways.
"Hi"
She said sitting on the table swinging her legs.
"Hi"
He replied with a smile.
"Listen Sting I..."
"Ya Mack?"
He felt his heart pounding. He knew it was for nothing once again.
"I was planning on heading home early tonight"
Mack looked at her hands
"Linx wanted to paint her room and.."
"Mack.. it's ok no need to explain. Head on home have fun"
He smiled. He felt his heart sink all the while.
"Ok well I'll talk to ya later Sting"
She smiled and as she stood she kissed the top of his head quickly. She grabbed her coat and left.
Mack was about half way home when she heard.
"Mack-chan!"
"Oh hi, Mira-chan"
"Hello"
She smiles
"Listen I'm hosting a party at Lucy's this weekend. You'll come right?"
"Course Mira. Sounds like fun"
"Great"
Mira said smiling
" Well I gotta run I'll talk to you later Mack-san"
"Bye Mira"
Mack turned and texted Yukino about the party. Yukino said she'd be happy to come and said she would talk to the boys.
