You never know when something amazing is about to happen. Some people just don't expect that a frat house of rowdy boys could be that amazing thing. Mia, Amanda, Ally, and Jocelyn were confident that the biggest shock to packing up and moving across seas for their sophomore year of college would be the biggest thing to happen that year. However, these girls seem to attract crazy.
It was the weekend before classes began when they moved into the house on Stoneleigh Place. The house sat at the end of a cul-de-sac, well, to the right of the house on the end. It was a four-bedroom, two-story house next to a huge house that seemed to be crammed full. The girls hadn't met their neighbors at that point, they were pretty busy unpacking. It was a nice house though, although they did decide to repaint it. It was a wonder why the rent was so cheap.
That Sunday before their first day, Amanda decided she couldn't wait to paint the house.
And that's how she ended up dangling from the gutter.
See, Amanda couldn't wait for anyone else to come hold the ladder, so she decided she'd paint on her own. She then realized the gutter was filthy, filled with fallen leaves. So, of course, she began pulling the leaves out, too impatient to get the right equipment. Then she leaned just a little too far, and now she's hanging on to the gutter by her fingertips.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps.
"Mia?" She called out for the only other person home. She heard a deep, condescending chuckle that was definitely not Mia. Ugh.
"Nope, name's Zac... but uh, how's it hanging?" The British boy said, laughing to himself as if this was so amusing. Amanda turned her head slightly to see a tall man in basketball shorts and a long sleeve shirt with some kind of jersey over it. His hair made him look like a douchebag.
"Dude, could you help me or something?" Amanda snapped, trying to adjust her grip without slipping. She could practically hear the man sneer at her.
"Mmm, or something? What could that entail?" He smirks, and Amanda tries not to throw up in her mouth. "Because I'm not just going to do you such a big favor without getting something in return," He says, trying to sound seductive. Amanda quickly realizes that she'd much rather drop from this gutter than owe this kid a favor.
So, she promptly let go of the gutter. She falls to the ground and lands on her knee.
"Shit," She mutters, realizing right away she dislocated her knee again.
"The fuck?" Zac yells and runs to her. Amanda barely groans in pain before taking a deep breath and popping her dislocated knee back into place. He steps back in disgust. "Jesus Christ," He groans.
"Get off our lawn," Amanda snapped before walking over to the front door and slamming it behind her. Mia is sitting at the kitchen island and barely looks up from her laptop when Amanda hobbles into the kitchen. "Whatcha up to?" She asks Mia as she grabs an ice pack from their freezer. Even though they had barely unpacked anything besides essentials, they quickly realized ice packs were indeed essentials for Amanda.
"Looking over my globalization and international polices class syllabus again. It's such bullshit, it's gonna be so elementary with this moronic hack of a professor," Mia complains and Amanda tries to agree, but she didn't really understand half those words. "Ally's gonna hate him," She mutters, still mad that they got stuck with this professor.
"Shit, where's Jocelyn?" Amanda suddenly wonders, "I sent her to get decorations for Ally's party like hours ago,"
"She's not upstairs?" Mia asks. Amanda laughs at her and the absurdity that she's been sitting at the counter reading syllabi for three hours.
