I am so sorry this took so long. Please enjoy, and sorry for the sudden end, I will get the next part out as soon as possible! If it's not before Christmas, then Merry Christmas!!<3
It was impossible to ignore that there was something on Rose Weasley's mind for the rest of the morning. She could feel the constant curious glances of her three friends, but Rose couldn't bring herself to engage in their conversations.
She was, for lack of a better word, speechless.
Lily had made the group's decision to take a trip to Hogsmeade that weekend. Rose didn't particularly want to join them, but she hadn't spent time with the three girls in a while. And, as Lily so kindly pointed out, what else was she going to be doing on a Saturday?
She sighed, zipping up her baby blue puffer jacket.
"You ready, Rose?" Roxanne asked. She and Hannah had been standing by the door for a few minutes now.
She nodded in reply and the three girls strode from their dormitory.
Lily huffed when they made it down to the common room. "About time," she said, uncrossing her arms. "What took you so long?"
"You know Rose," Roxanne said. "She likes to take her time to look good for all the boys."
"Very funny." Rose rolled her eyes, causing the three girls to crack up laughing. Rose was glad they found hilarity in her misfortune. Everyone knew she couldn't pretty herself up to save herself.
They made their way through the castle, most students they passed seemingly heading the same way. Hogsmeade was a popular choice for a weekend excursion; there wasn't much to do around the castle when the weather started to turn cold.
"So what's on the agenda?" Hannah chirped, a skip in her step. She was dressed in a burgundy parka, her neck wrapped in the Gryffindor scarf, and her feet stuffed in a pair of fashionable ankle boots.
Rose looked down at her own worn out white trainers — if she could even call it white anymore. The colour had faded after over a years worth of wear, to something that resembled an off-yellow. Her nose scrunched in slight disgust. Maybe she would ask for a new pair for Christmas, even if she desperately needed them before.
Roxanne shrugged, her hands stuffed in the pockets of her black anorak. She wore it unzipped, her warmth being provided by the fluffy grey fleece she had on underneath. "I fancy a Butterbeer, personally."
Lily rolled her eyes at her cousin. "You always fancy a Butterbeer, Roxanne."
Rose exchanged an amused smile with Hannah. That was true. They could always count on Roxanne if they wanted to head to The Three Broomsticks.
"I was thinking we could have a little look around the shops before we head to Madam Rosmerta's," Lily said.
The other three agreed, Rose more eagerly than anyone. She wanted to scout out the new bookstore that had opened in time for the school year beginning. She had only managed to pop down twice before, and her company had dragged her away before she managed to have a proper good look. Lily never understood Rose's passion for reading or her love of bookstores. But Rose couldn't blame her. The younger witch was more into partying, fashion and boys, which Rose would never be.
Lily beamed. "Great! Let's go!"
Rose knew that she was glad that she had unanimous agreement. Lily loved being the ring leader, something that was clear as she marched ahead, paving the way for the other three through the large throng of students who had left at the same time as them.
