MONDAY
Adrienne
"Bye mom! I'm leaving!" I picked up my black tote bag. I wanted to make a good impression on my first day, that's why I'm wearing these heels, who I wish I could just break off. Dad and I went shopping for a full 9 hours and we only bought one outfit of his choice.
"Hold up honey!" My mom rushed over to me with 20 dollars in her hand. She handed it to me and gave me a big hug. "Derek's waiting for you outside."
"Derek? Why?" I asked confused putting the 20 dollars in my bag.
"He's driving you to school." I didnt know if I was supposed to be mad or confused. When the fuck did Derek get a license? If all I know, the only thing he does is sit on the couch and watch Netflix.
"Why not you?" I asked. "I mean anyone but Derek."
My mother crossed her arms. "Addi you are going in to that car. Besides there's nothing wrong with a little bonding time."
I put on my shoes. "Fine." I give her one last hug before walking out the door.
By the driveway I see Derek dropping a cigarette and crushing it under his foot. I sigh. Spare me lord.
I get into the passenger seat without a word. "Put on your seatbelt." I hear him say
"Who are you to tell me that?"
"Jeez did daddy's little girl wake up soar?" Derek said putting on his seatbelt. Of course he would bring in all the daddy shit. On my 17th birthday I screamed "Daddy" loudly because one of dad's friends had gotten me a cornsnake.
I mean I'm sure everyone would have the same reaction as me.
Despite what he said I still put on My seatbelt--- not because he told me to, just to be safe.
My dad spent hours trying to find a new school with high standards but tell me why it looks like R.Kelly just pooped on it.
I sigh and take off my seatbelt. "I am not going out there."
"Well you're not staying on here either." Derek said scrolling through his phone. "Is little miss Confident not so confident anymore?"
"Of course I'm confident. But all these peasants-" He coughed. "-people seem so...." I watched as a group of girls walked by the car heading towards some boys sitting under a tree. "Basic."
"Get out Addi." He seemed very annoyed by me.
"Why do you have a mattress in the ba-" I was about to ask but he interrupted me.
"Out!"He almost yelled.
I gasped before smirking widely. "Your cheating on mom!" My hands gripped his shoulder and I started shaking them. "The heck is wrong with you?!"
"Don't jump to conclusions Adrienne--"
I climbed over the center console and ended up on his lap. Like I haven't been there before. Before he was able to stop me I had slapped him right across his face. "You son of a bitch!" I yelled. I opened the cardoor and reached for my bag over him, ignoring his exscuses.
I harshly closed the door went away from the car.
I am not putting up with any more shit today.
