Maria awake from the dream that she had few days from now. She dream that she has this power that has violet color and she fought monstrous creatures. For others, they would find it weird and just ignore it, but for her, she felt proud of what she done in her dream.. and relieved.
Every time she dreamt that, her heart and mind remain calm and she felt something in her body like their is an electric wave flowing like a blood through her veins.
She look at her side where her alarm clock is ticking. She let a heavy sigh when she saw the time.
Oh god. It's still 12:02.
And then, she realized something. Every time she wake up from her dream the time is always 12:02.
Coincidence lang ba 'yon? Or talaga bang sinadya ng tadhana na magising ako sa eksaktong oras?
She let a heavy sigh again and took her phone that is beside of her alarm clock. She open her Gallery at humiga sa kama ulit. She smiled at the image of her family. The image is captured in their homeland. They were so happy back then, until one day, her parents decide to leave the place na kinagisnan niya. She's a discipline girl so she agreed of her parents decision. Wala na siyang magawa kaya hinayaan niya na lang ang magulang na lumipat ng ibang lugar.
They found the place that her parents want to live and that is Lathen, Demoran. In eight years of staying in Lathen, she never had friends nor an acquintance. She just stayed in her room and read books. She's not anti-social person, she just want to live peacefully and be in her room reading books and stuffs.
While looking at their pictures, she yawned and decide to sleep after she press off her cellphone.
Nagising siya na magtatanghali na, akala niya gigisingin siya ng Mama niya. Ito kasi palagi ang gigising sakanya kapag umaga na. But this is different.
Maybe they're gone off to work? Ani ng isip niya.
Siguro tama nga yung naisip niya. Maybe her parents go to work dahil hindi siya ginising ng ina niya. But it's okay for her to wake her up in the morning dahil matutulog naman siya ulit kapag aantukin siya. Kaya nagdududa siya dahil hindi siya ginising ng ina niya, nasanay na kasi siya na palagi siyang ginigising.
Tumayo siya sa pagkakaupo sa kama niya at tinungo ang banyo. She open the faucet that is connected to the shower and let the water flow to her skin. She can't understand what she feel. Her body is very hot when she is taking a bath, and when she is not, her body is very cold like she's inside of a freezer. It is very weird for a human experiencing this kind of temperature that is inside of a human's body pero nakasanayan na niya 'yon.
After a few minutes of bathing, she chose a clothes that will warm her body. Ngayon lang niya naisip na magdamit ng makapal na sweater at makapal din na pajama, she wears also a cotton slipper that will warm her feet. But after she done clothing herself, walang nangyari. Mas lalong naging malamig ang kanyang katawan to the point na gusto na niyang mag shower ulit. But she don't want to take a bath again dahil tapos na siyang maligo. So she get undressed and choose the common clothes that she wear when she's in the house. A plain t-shirt and a thin pajama.
Padapa siyang humiga ulit sa kama. She's a little bit exhausted because of the thickness of the clothes she wear. Parang nawalan siya ng hininga sandali dahil sa suot niya kanina. And the temperature of her body doesn't change a bit. Still the same.
Bumangon siya sa pagkakahiga ng tumunog ang tiyan niya. She forgot that is afternoon, feel niya kasi umaga pa dahil narin sa sinag ng araw. Tumayo siya at lumabas ng kwarto. Agad siyang dumiretso sa kusina at may nakita kaagad siyang sticky note na nasa ref nakadikit.
'Hey, My Princess. I'm sorry if Mama didn't wake you up, na-late din kasi kami ng gising ng Papa mo kaya hindi kita nagising. Magluto ka nalang ng almusal/tanghalian mo, okay? Ingat ka jan 'nak. We love you, mwa!' -Mama :)
She smiled and understand of the reason of her Mother. Nilukot niya ito at itinapon sa basurahan. She open the refrigerator at kumuha ng dalawang itlog, dalawang bacon, at tatlong hotdog. Inilagay niya ito sa mesa at kumuha ng slice bread at ipinasok sa toaster.
She's in the middle of putting the egg in the pan when she hear a knock on the door in their living room. Kunot-noo niyang pinatay ang stove at naglakad patungo sa pintuan. Binuksan niya ito at bumungad ang isang babae na parang ka-edad lang niya. May dala itong Tupperware at nakangiti itong bumungad sakanya.
"Hi! I'm Thania.."pakilala nito sabay lahad ng kamay. Kinuha niya naman ito nakipag-kamay. "Maria.."tipid niyang sabi.
"By the way, may dinala pala ako sa'yo."wika niya at binuksan ang takip ng tupperware. Bumungad sakanya ang fruit salad na walang raisins.
Her stomach begins to noise. This is her favorite, fruit salad with no raisins. But she wondered, paano niya nalaman ang paborito nito? Does her parents tell this woman her favorites? I'm sure her parents don't want to talk with stranger especially neighbors.
Nang makita ni Thania na nag-aalinlangan itong kunin niya, agad itong kumuha ng isang piraso ng fruit salad at kinain. "See, walang lason."she said between eating.
"N-no. That's not what I meant."nahihiyang usal niya. "I just want to know kung kanino mo nalaman na paborito ko 'to."she said with a low tone.
Tumawa naman si Thania at umiiling-iling. "Hindi mo ba ako naaalala?"
"Hindi eh. Sino ka ba?"
"Best friend mo ko uy since elementary."
"Eh?"hindi makapaniwalang tanong niya. She never had a best friend since she was elementary. She used to be alone and she is homeschooled also. Unless.. Napasinghap siya sa naisip niya at umiiling-iling.
"No-no! I-it can't be, right? It c-can't be."
Tumawa naman ulit ito at ngumiti ng matamis-tamis.
"Naaalala mo na ako. Let me properly introduce myself.."tumayo ito ng tuwid at nag-bow. "I'm Thania. You're imaginary friend that is now alive."
She didn't even blink at parang gumuho ang mundo niya sa nakita at nalaman.
What in the effin world?
She stands up and the smile in her face didn't fade. "Nice to see you again, Maria."
"Holy shit!"
