VR Chapter 5

I walked into the cellphone store I jumped as the lady greeted me. "Hi! How can I help you today?" she asked . "Im looking to get a phone, ive never had one before," I amswered the women feeling slightly embarresed. The lady smiled " No worries we will get you all taken care of ok hun," she said as she headed to the counter in the front. It took maybe a hour in a half and I was walking out with a new phone in hand. I looked at the device and played with it a bit, figured id head the the café and maybe see jf Eli was there. If not id sit a bit and try to figure this new phone out I thought to my self. Slipping the phone in my locket of my jeans and headed towards the café.

As I walked up the forest smell hit me and a felt my gut tighten up and I looked around. There he sat alone in a far off corner on his computer typing away, his forest green eyes focused on the screen his hair shaggy and messy looking as it had been before. Standing a good distance away I stared a few moments. Finally I snapped out of the trance and went over to him and sat. He jumped and the serious look fadded quickly as his gaze fell on me. " Well lady luck has graced me with her presence once again," he said winking at me.

Trying to hold back a grin I laid my cellphone on the table to show him, his eyes went to the phone and he chuckled. "So you decided to join the twenty first century?" My eyes narrowed at him. He threw his hands up immediately "That was not a shot at your age I swear love," he said quickly. "Love?" I questioned. He laughed a little more "Sorry habit, just something I've always said," he replied. I nodded slightly and relaxed a bit leaning back in my chair to rest my back on the back of the chair. Eli picked up the phone and proceeded to click buttons and I watched not sure on what he was doing. I jumped hearing a snap from the phone, he grinned as he had his phone also in his other hand. "What did you do?" I asked him. He smiled "Took a picture of you for my phone, so when you call I can see that pretty face of yours." He said with a wink. Another snap came from one of the phones but this time it was my phone and he was back at clicking around on my phone, I could see Eli trying to fight back his laughter as he handed me my phone back. Looking down at my phone he had set a picture of him self as the background photo. "What the..., " I questioned. "How you know if I didn't have someone else in mind for my background photo?" I asked him and his laughter stopped. "Oh yea? Did you have someone else in mind for your wallpaper? If you did don't think they like you being here with me then." He said sounding a bit full of him self. I smirked a bit. " And you don't have anyone in your phone but me which means I'm the only one in your...wait a minute you didn't have a phone last night," he said a sly grin growing as I looked down grabbing my phone. "Did you get a phone so you could get a hold of me?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. I felt my checks flush as I kept my gaze from meeting his. "Well if your not going to answer Quinny im going to take that as a yes," Eli said. Quinny? I thought to my self now he's giving me pet names. Shaking my head I finally met his gaze almost loosing my self in his charming green eyes. " No, I just figured I needed one to fit into the twenty-first century like you said, "I answered back. The sly grin never left his face as he answered "Sure you did, I let you get away with that answer for now, "he said running his hand through his shaggy hair. "So our date tonight? What would you like to do?" he asked? I shrugged "I haven't been on a date in a very long time so I wouldn't even know where to start, "I replied. "Do you have to play again tonight?" Eli shook his head "Not tonight I get a break tonight, I forgot to ask how your night was." My eyes widened as the events replayed in my mind, I saw the concern grow on Eli's face. I shook my head trying to dismiss the thoughts of the night "It was boring, "I sod hoping he buy the lie. "Quinn don't do me that way I saw that look when I asked, that look didn't say boring night, "his voice grew deep and full of concern. "Nothing hap..." I started but was cut off. "Did the bastard from yesterday show up?" he ask as he clenched his teeth. "Eli drop it please it is nothing, "I tried to reassure him but saw the anger in his eyes. "Eli!" I yelled and he snapped back to reality. "Sorry." He said leaning back in his chair shaking his head. "Lets go we will wing this whole date, "he said gathering his computer and putting it in his backpack and stood holding his hand out. Smiling you took his hand as he helped you up and left the café.

Seemed like hours has passed before Eli said anything. "Sorry for earlier, just from yesterday seemed like you really didn't like that guy." I looked at him and nodded " I've been running from him for decades now." We found some benches in the park with all the fall leaves falling from the trees around it, we sat. "Mind if I ask why?" The thought made me flinch at the thought. " I was human at one point of my life many, many years ago," I started to tell my whole life story to this werewolf that I had just met the other night, but something about him made me feel comfortable with him. Almost like I could truly trust him, but I was scared for his sake that Angelo may come after him because of me. Eli's eyes were wide when I had finished and looked at him, I knew I shouldn't hve told him everything he probably thinks im crazy now. I looked down and notice his nails had now turned to claws and we're dugged in to the old wood of the bench. "Eli?" I said gently as I reached to put my hand on his shoulder. He jumped a little but snapped back to reality once again. "That bastered, let me get my hands on him, "he growled clenching his teeth, his fangs visible now. "No!" I snapped one eye now red the other still blue, the thought of what D'Angelo said he do to Eli ran through my mind as Eli spoke. Eli looked at me the concern look came back to his face "Quinn calm down hun," he said sitting up his claws had gone away as he put his hand on my shoulder. "I can tell something is bugging you hun, what did he do last night?" Taking a deep breathe I proceeded to tell Eli the event of last night after getting home. I watched his body language changed as he tried his hardest to keep control. "Quinn you don't have to worry, we wolves run in packs, he won't get the better of me when there is more then wolf around," his cocky grin appearing again on his face. Shaking my head I fought back my tears of concern and worry. "He's not one to take lightly, that's why I been running for decades." Standing Eli took my hand and pulled me up and we were walking again. "Eli where we going?" He looked at me with his wolfish grin "You will see, "was all he said.

Finally we had stopped we were up top of the a building there stood a bronze statue of a female wolf feeding two small children and beyond that at the edge of the building there ,was the sun setting. "Beautiful, "I muttered softly. Eli grinned "Ive watch this every evening, but I've found a new site I like to see," I flushed at the comment as we sat on the edge of the building watching the site. Eli's phone began to ring as the sun disappeared he looked at the caller id and growled "One moment hun, " he said standing and walking back the way they came answering his phone with a deep growl "What I told..." he started but paused as the other person on the phone started talking. Knowing I shouldn't I listened in to the conversation only really hearing what eli was saying. "You sure it's the one I described.....just that one......is it alone.....good get the pack together and met me at our spot." Eli hung up and before he knew or heard I was right behind him. "Oh shit! Quinn I didn't know you were right behind me, "he said almost falling back. "Eli...what was that about....your not going after Angelo are you?" Eli bit his lip and looked away "Hes in my packs area we don't tolerate that, he's been hunting.." Cutting him off I snapped "No! Did you not listen to me when I told you what he said he do to you!?!?" Eli smirked "Did you not listen it's a pack vs one vampire we will be fine but I do have to cut our date short, im gonna walk you home though to make sure you get there safe," he took hold of my hand and led me down the stairs.

We got to my apartment my door was still shut and locked, I pulled out my keys and unlocked my door and looked back at Eli. He smiled leaning in kissing me on the cheek. "Ill call you later when im done ok?" Blushing a bright red after he kissed my cheek I nodded slowly. "Don't worry he won't hurt me ok," he reassured me. I nodded and watched him leave. Once he was out of my sight I shut the door locking it back up. Putting my back against the door I slid down and sat there with my knees up to my chest and sighed heavily. Not meaning to I doze off still sitting in front of the door as I drift off into my dream world, I hear nothing but growls and howls. Not being able to see anything but what seems to be a dense fog I see glowing eyes in the distance and then the smell of blood hits me. Opening my mouth to scream but nothing comes out, quickly my hands cover my mouth as I start to panic, then I hear this menacing laugh. My eyes widen as I recognize the laugh, D'Angelo. Was this the fight Eli was heading into? Is this what happened or is happening? My mind wonder as I tried to move and couldn't. Tears burned my eyes as they slide down my cheeks. Wake up you idiot I yelled at my self trying to force my self awake. Nothing seemed to worked as I flinch at ever yelp and howl I heard not knowing who it was. I jolted awake to a loud thud against the door I was still sitting against. Jumping to my feet I was terrified to open the door, I looked at my phone it now read three am. It was about eight pm when Eli had got me home but there was no missed calls nothing on my phone. Slowly I reached for the door knob and opened it to find........
