With the Evil Seed running rampant, two sides were formed but never joined in unison; those who thrived in that chaos to further the Evil Seeds deeds like the reaper known as the Azure Knight and those who wished order to be restored to its rightful place and wanted Soul Edge destroyed like Siegfried and his mercenary band, Schwarzwind, and Sophitia Alexandra. Our story takes place during the 16th century, during the height of Soul Edge's influence over the entire world through war, violence, and bloodshed.
In the far reaches of Indian Ocean, trade and travel were still frequent. One such vessel was headed towards the Philippines with Y/n L/n on board. Y/n was a part of Siegfried's mercenaries, but ventured off to find people to help combat against those who would seek Soul Edge for their own selfish desires. He had heard a rumor during his travels in India of "wind priestesses" somewhere in Southeastern Asia, and thought it might be worth checking out. When the ship docked, the port wasn't as bustling as Indian ports, the islands were small after all, but it was a nice welcome change.
Y/n asked around for wind priestesses and where he could find some and was given information about a village not too far from the port, so he grabbed a horse and rode off in that direction. On the way there, he saw someone on top of a large, grassy hill and he tied his horse to a nearby tree to see if he was going the right way. As he stepped closer to the hill, a large gust of wind came his way, blowing his (h/c) hair in his face and ruffling his cloak as he braced himself. When the winds died down, he continued up the hill and got a closer look at the girl wearing what he thought was the traditional garb.
Y/n: Um, excuse me, miss. Do you know where I might find wind priestesses?
The girl got up from her prayer and turned to face the former knight and Y/n got a good look of her. She was young, maybe a few years below his age, and she was beautiful beyond anything he had ever seen. While Y/n might say that he prefers a woman that can hold a blade, he might reconsider his stance. Maybe he needed his opposite; someone far removed from war and all of its aspects, retaining their innocence in the process.
Girl: I'm a wind priestess. That gust of wind you felt, I was trying to feel your intentions.
Y/n: And? What is your assessment of me?
Girl: You're curious. And those swords you wear around your waist, you'd rather not use them if you don't need to. Am I correct?
Y/n: Those winds are pretty useful.
Girl: Not for the purposes you'd thought they were for, though.
Y/n: Indeed. I thought that maybe wind priestesses like yourself would be able to help in my journey, but the more I stay here, the more I realize I was wrong.
Girl: I'm sorry, but its peaceful here, away from the war. And we wish to keep it that way.
Y/n: I can't exactly force you to do anything you want...so, why are you here by yourself? Shouldn't you be in your village?
Girl: I'm practicing a ritual for my village so that I can be formally made into a wind priestess. They're preparing everything over there, so I wouldn't advise going. And they're not as open to talking to foreigners like yourself.
Unsatisfied with his visit, Y/n made his way back down the hill back towards his horse, when the girl's blood-curdling screams pierced the silent air as he ran back up the hill with one of his two longswords out. He saw what were essentially three bandits wielding an axe, polearm, and scimitar and he immediately ran his sword through one of them, pulling out his other sword and beheaded the bandit wielding the scimitar. He tossed the body of the polearm bandit towards the axe wielder to throw him off balance, pulling out his other longsword and quickly diced him into pieces.
