yuzuru hesitantly drank his earl grey and sighed.
dear diary,
i didn't talk to javi all practice today. not that i didn't want to, he just became more, distant, i guess i would say. to be honest, i'm unsure if i'm distant or he's distant, it's just isn't the same anymore with his girlfriend around. he always spared time for her and not interacting with anyone all day.
there was a knock on the door.
yuzuru quickly closed his journal and greeted whoever was here this hour. to his surprise, javi was standing in his doorway, looking unexpectedly energetic.
"what are you doing here?"
yuzuru asked in an almost inaudible whisper.
"just wanted to drop by and talk to you a bit. about, i don't know, life i guess."
yuzuru was hesitant, he was about to get ready for bed as soon as he was finished with his journal. but he hasn't talked to javi for a long time, so he welcomed him.
"sure."
javi plopped himself on the couch that he was so used to sitting on. all those nights playing games and just joking around flooding back into his mind. he truly missed the giggly yuzuru. now he was just kind of distant.
"so? what did you want to say?"
yuzuru turned around as soon as he got his lock to cooperate.
"i just wanted to catch up ever since that..encounter at the cafè."
"oh.."
"yuzu...is something wrong? you didn't interact with me all week."
"YOU DIDN'T INTERACT WITH ME ALL WEEK."
javi flinched a little.
"sorry i.. i'm just..there's a lot going on in my mind lately."
"it's alright. you wanna share? i'm always here to listen."
"i'm good, thanks. by the way..is your girlfriend moving here?"
"oh..yeah she is. is that a problem?"
"not at all, why would you think that?"
yuzuru slightly stiffened when he said that out loud. he knew it was a dammed problem that will almost certainly destroy their 5-year-friendship. but he also didn't want javi to suspect anything.
"no, yuzu, you've been acting strange since the day she came. do you two have a problem?"
yuzu could sense a slight annoyance in javi's every word.
"what the actual fuck javi? why would i have a problem with her?"
"well she told me about how you were being mean to her."
oh. my. god.
"well do you believe her?"
yuzu said upon tensing up.
"based on how you act lately, i do. what's your problem yuzuru? just spit it out. you ignored me all week and you say bad things about my girlfriend."
yuzuru couldn't believe what he was hearing. javi really trusted that retarded asshole.
"how could you say such a thing about me? you think i would do that to you?"
"just admit it. you're jealous of our relationship."
"the fuck javi? why would i be? i'm happy with you as a best friend. i-i didn't do anything!"
"stop denying. you are trying to harm our relationship. my girlfriend is making sense. i shouldn't have trusted you as my best friend."
"wha.."
"shut up yuzu. you better go apologize to my girlfriend."
"you're saying nonsense!"
"i know what i'm saying. you're the one who should be checking your mind again."
he couldn't hold it anymore. the anger was consuming him. he couldn't believe that his best friend would say such a thing like that to him.
"get the fuck out javi."
javi wasn't hesitant when he stood up and slammed the door. through the walls, yuzu could hear his long-term best friend talking to his fiancée. it was muffled, but yuzuru could hear it as bright as the day.
"you were right. i'm so blind to be trusting him."
"told you."
yuzuru could hear their footsteps retreating mixed with his painful sobs.
