Betty Pov
I walked up to Mrs.Burbles office, nervous and anxious. I took a deep breath, then proceeded to open the door.
B: Mrs.Burble? Do you have a minute?
Bu: Ms.Cooper! Come in.
I sat opposite of Mrs.Burble, on a green polka dotted sofa.
Bu: So, how can I be of help?
B: Well. I'm really nervous to tell my mom something! I feel like I should tell her, but if I do wait she'll find out before I get a chance to. And of top of that, I don't know how to tell her!
Bu: I understand. May I ask what your concerns are about?
B:Um..
Bu: It's okay if you were to share your feelings with me.
I nodded, then looked to my feet.
B: I-I recently found out that i'm.. pregnant..
Bu: That's incredible, isn't it?
B: Yeah, of course. I'm really happy about it, I just have no clue how to tell my mom.
Bu: I see. Well are you comfortable talking to her honestly about your life?
B: Sort of, we aren't really that close. But i'm hoping to attempt to change that!
B: The only issue is that she isn't a 'passive receiver' with brand new information, you could say.
Bu: Ah. Maybe you should wait a while, until you get more comfortable with yourself.
I nodded.
Bu: Then when you feel it's right, sit her down for a serious conversation and just tell her, at that point she won't really have any decision besides accepting it.
B: Oh, okay. I'll try that, thank you Mrs.Burble.
Bu: No problem. Follow my advice and you'll be off to a great start, good luck with the pregnancy Betty.
B: Thank you.
I gathered my items, then left her office. I walked over to the student lounge, since we're on free period, jughead was also visiting from Stone Wall he had a break. Veronica and Archie were also waiting for me.
I sat down on the couch next to Jughead,
J: Betts! How'd it go with Burble?
B: She gave me loads of piece of mind, which i'm thankful for!
J: Oh! What did she say?
B: She said I should wait until I tell my mom and your dad, I fully agree with that idea too.
J: Thanks great!
V: So, Betty. How are you dealing?
B: Honestly it's better then I expected! Only headaches so far, the other symptoms haven't kicked in yet.
V: That's good right!
B: Definitely!
We both laughed.
Shortly after the bell rung, all of us headed home. Jughead and I walked out of school holding hands, and into a pretty deep conversation,
B: Jug! What if this baby thing doesn't work!
J: Betts, don't say that. It will work okay, don't worry.
B: Well what if we aren't prepared for a baby!
J: We will be, okay! We'll have lots of help, we have our friends and family and I'm helping you every single step of the way.
I nodded, then started crying.
J: Betty! What happened? Why are you crying?
I looked up at him,
B: I-I don't know..!
I bursted out with more tears.
Jughead started laughing at me!
B: Why are you laughing! It's not funny!
I looked at him with this look: 🥺
He stopped laughing quickly.
J: Never mind! It's not funny, i'm sorry.
B: You better be!
I started giggling, then Jughead joined.
He gripped my hand tighter, then kissed my cheek.
J: I love you both so much!
I laughed,
B: We love you too, Juggy!
He hugged me then we arrived at our front door.
