Uraraka's POV:
After what felt like years of the best sleep of my life, my eyes betrayed me by slowly creeping open and glancing around the room. It was dim in my area as if someone had turned the lights down but beyond the curtain there was the soft glow of light and the sound of quiet conversation. I stretched and wiped off the drool that had accumulated on my cheek. Swinging my legs off the side of the cot I stood up and peeked around the curtain at the two adults conversing around the nurse's station. My dad was already chuckling at something recovery girl had said but as soon as he saw my face and ball of hair peeking around the corner he laughed a little harder.
"Well hey there squirrel, how was that nap? it looks like you really needed it." sheepishly I smiled and wandered over to them, giving my dad a little squeeze of hug, I looked up and smiled again "Oh, ya, it was really nice actually, thanks recovery girl. Also, thanks dad for coming all the way out here, I know its a long drive." Dad started waving his hands to bat the gratitude away all humble like, "Don't worry about it sweetie, I'm glad I could come by and see you even if I saw you yesterday. Honestly, I was missing you already." we just smiled at each other like a couple of idiots until recovery girl spoke up, "Alright you two, Miss Uraraka here is ready to go and she better do it quick before she misses lunch." We both quickly bowed, said our thanks, and headed out the door and down the hall.
Dad dropped me off at the cafeteria after I stopped by the bathroom to fix my hair, and then giving me one more squeeze before turning to leave he said, "Give me a call anytime if you still want to talk with your old and embarrassing parents. Ha, your mother and I are so proud of you sweetie. Oh! Also please send my thanks to that Bakugou boy, Recovery Girl said that he did a lot to help you today. Ok hun, I'll stop gabbing and go, you go have a good day!" "Ya, ya, ya, Bye dad! Love you!" I waved at him as he headed down the hall towards the front entrance and I just shook my head. Man, they care too much, but I wouldn't have it any other way. and ya, I guess he is right, I should go and thank Bakugou. I mean he did catch me when I fainted and made sure I was alright before he left.
Upon entering the cafeteria I was instantly smothered by my group of friends. Mina was crying and squeezing the life out of me almost like she was trying to pump life into me as if I just previously had none. Iida was trying to repel Mina by correcting her conduct with the proper social manners and Deku was laughing with Tsuyu over the whole affair. "MINA! would you stop it!" I batted her away from me and grabbed a deep breath. Mina just pouted with her fists on her hips, "What? I can't be worried? You were gone for almost THREE hours and when Bakugou came back WITHOUT you and no reason why, we were almost certain he murdered you!" Deku nervously waved his hands around, "O-oh! It wasn't necessarily like that, w-we were just wondering w-what happened and if you were ok and you had left with kacchan and..."He was cut off by Iida with one swift air chop of his hand. "Now that is enough! As classmates of both Bakugou and Uraraka, we should give the benefit of the doubt and let her tell us in her own time." I scratch the back of my neck again and say, "I'm fine you guys, honestly! I just had a nasty migraine that, thanks to recovery girl, is history. And Bakugou just helped me get to the nurses office and left. I can tell you more later but I'd really like to get a little lunch before we return to class. Tsuyu linked arms with the ruffled pink alien and the green haired boy and started pulling them back towards their table. "Ribbit, of course Uraraka, we're happy you are feeling better! Ribbit" I mouthed "we'll talk later" to Mina then swung through the line and scarfed as much of it down before the bell rang yet again for class to start.
The rest of the day went pretty quickly and uneventfully, first days usually do except for Mina tackling me after dinner in my dorm room to chat about what happened earlier that day.I tried to tell her that nothing really happened, although I thought Mina was going to faint as well when I told her that Bakugou carried me to the nurses office.
Actually the rest of the week went by quickly as classes dove into our studies, homework and training sessions were planned and stacked by our rubrics and study groups. But as the days started to become routine and the week inched towards the weekend, there was a reoccurring theme that made me unsettled; a pair of ruby eyes. The spiky haired blond with the constant cold shoulder on one side and a giant chip on the other. Every time I have tried to talk to him to thank him for his help, he would dismiss me, or ignore me, or run away, I even tried passing him a note but he just burned it with a small explosion and let the ash fall to the floor. But in all the situations where he was avoiding talking to me, he still had his eye on me; I could see him tense up in front of me in class whenever I got called on, every time I coughed or sneezed he'd sneak a quick glance over his shoulder at me, and he was always watching my training sessions from afar as if I couldn't see him. It was starting to encroach on stalker-ish and yet endearing? I wanted to talk to him but it never seemed to work out in my favor, If only I could get him alone, then maybe I could make him talk to me!
