Chapter 6

Guirec's Point Of View

It was all a blurry....
W-What....?
P-P-Pappa.....?

" Daddy! Don't m-make me go a-a-away! " I screamed as I tried to reach a tall man I called 'Father'. Such a strange word... But it holds so much for me... He turned around and put his hands o my shoulders while in a crouching position
" Listen to me, Guirec, you need to run as far away from here as you can... Do not look back no matter what... Understand? " His voice firm, but gentle at the same time. Did he knew of the pain his words has brought me...?
" D-Daddy... Please! T-The men- "
" Listen to me! You need to run away! Please, do it for me and for him... Please... " His voice held desperation and sadness... Did- Did I do something to cause this? I nodded and ran through the back door of the apartment. I ran into the woods, far away as I could, just like my father said. Until I suddenly collapsed on the ground with tears running down my cheeks
" Guirec... " I heard a voice calling me. I turned everywhere around me, but nobody was there
" Guirec. " It was a bit faint, but I felt like it was coming closer
" Guirec! " It was louder this time
" GUIREC!! "

I fell off my bed, groaning as I kissed the cold and hard floor. I got up in a sitting position and looked up to see Kody... His expression... W-Why is he-
He cut me off by going to my side and hugging me. It was a bit awkward, I must admit, but he was trying and I hugged back
" W-Why did you cried in your sleep? " He asked, stuttering a bit. I guess he just isn't used to me crying or showing a negative emotion... If only he knew...
" It was a nightmare, don't worry about it... " I whispered, trying to calm his worries
" Do you... " He stopped, seeming a bit awkward to show affection towards someone " Do you want to talk about it? " He asked, surprising me. Why did he suddenly start to care? This is actually new to me
" It's fine " I replied, silently praying that he won't return to his cold self just for a little bit.
We stayed like that for a while before he pushed me away, gently, and tossing me my uniform
" Get ready, then come in our usual place " He said then shut the door behind him. Huh... This is nice... I started purring Wait... WHEN DID WEREWOLVES PURRED!!!?
I climbed up the ladder and sat beside Kody, while he taught me how to read and do the math. When I told him I didn't know the stuff they teach in school because I was never in one, he was surprised, but then agreed to teach me what he learned in school and I was so happy! It's nice to talk to Kody without his complaining or whining or his stubbornness and ignorance. He would be a good teacher, I agree. Then, the cat formed and laid in my lap, purring as I petted it gently. I know, Aiden told me about them, but if Kody was alright, I am.
After a while of reading, doing the math and other stuff, my head was in Kody's lap and he petted me like I petted the cat. I purred silently, but then Aiden was with us
" Why are you so difficult? " He asked Kody with a sigh
" Why are you so persistent? " Kody shot back
" Can't you at least consider- "
" No. "
" He's going to be really sad you know... He drank poison because you told him to and you still don't trust him? " I think they were talking about Lumine, he's the only one that drank poison- I mean potion because of Kody
" POTION " Kody corrected his dad " And yes, I still don't trust him. He's only acting loyal 'cause you ordered him to " There was a pause from Aiden, maybe he was surprised? I don't think what Kody said is true-
" I didn't order him to do anything. I even gave him the option to freeload here " Aiden said, sounding surprised himself I guess. Kody moved his head to look at his dad, pausing a bit
" Still not convinced "
" Ugh... " Aiden groaned, sounding defeated " Do you want to choose the other option then? " What's this other option? Kody seemed tense
" Either you let Lumine be your bodyguard... " There was a pause. What was Aiden planning now? " ..Or... You'll get rid of that spirit " Kody tensed even more " And your butler " I flinched, opening my eyes to look at Aiden with hatred
" So that's how it is? " I asked, my eyes glowed a bit " I can easily go out myself, but I thought you, out of all people in this damn house, wouldn't do this, Aiden " His name slipped out of my mouth like a real poison " ... I'll be in my room... " I said, irritation and anger clear in my voice. I fell beside Aiden and jumped down, quickly running to my room and locking the door.
My back pressed against the door, my hand covering my mouth. Then, my knees gave out and I slid down to the floor, the thoughts getting better of me
Even Aiden doesn't want you, what a pity
How can you ever let them do that? I'm disappointed
How could you trust them so easily?
You're a disgrace to werewolves!
My tears fell and choked, quiet, sobs filled my room. Why did I do to make Aiden say that?

Lumine's Point Of View

I was passing Gue's door to hear something inside. I put my ear to the door to hear quiet sobs, why did she cry...? I decided to let her alone, maybe she needed time for herself? I continued my way to the attic, feeling guilty. I knock on the door, hearing a silent 'Come in' from the inside, I opened the door to find Aiden on the ground
" Um... I'm looking for Kody... " I said quietly, looking at Aiden who was on the floor
" Oh! Kody's in the attic again! " He informed me, pointing his finger where Kody was. I got on the ladder and up
" Kody? " I got a stuffed animal in my face " Bwah! "
" Go away. " He said coldly, glaring at me
" B-But I- " I stopped myself as I saw the animal that was thrown at me, it was a wolf! " This... Is... This a wolf? Do you like wolves? I didn't expect you to like them.. " Kody mumbled under his breath
" I told you to go away "
" I like bunnies! I think wolves are cool too though... But I see them more as siblings... "
" Siblings? "
" Ah! No! I-I mean..! " I tried to find an excuse for my little mistake. But before I could, Kody snatched the wolf out of my grasp
" I don't remember giving you permission to come here. And I don't accept you as my bodyguard " He let it slip out like poison... But he told me!
" What!? But y-you- "
" You think I'll suddenly start trusting you after you drank that potion? I bet you were bribed by my dad to act all nice around me and earn my trust " He glared at me, his words hit me like a brick
" Bribed!? No..! I wasn't bribed to do this job... " I defended myself
" Yeah right. Ask dad to give you some other job. Or even better... Get out of my house " Kody said coldly, his voice hitting my heart... Why...?
" Did I... Did I do something wrong..? Did I do something that upsets you..? If you would say what I did wrong.. Then I could try and fix it... " I quietly said, looking at the ground with sorrow and sadness in my eyes... " But... If you really want me to leave... Then of course I'll leave... I can find a job elsewhere... " I really could go if he really hated me that much. He had Gue to protect and make him feel happy... I was nothing to him, it seems...
" You know what... Do whatever you want. "
" Huh? " My head was up while my eyes looked at him curiously, what was he trying to say?
" You can be my bodyguard or whatever... Dad would just get me some other annoying bodyguard if you left... " He said, I was really surprised at his words
" Then.. I can stay..? Are you really okay with me staying...? " I asked, hoping for something
" Yeah, yeah, whatever " He carelessly said, not looking at me
" Thank you " I thanked him, smiling brightly

Guirec's Point Of View

I looked at myself in the mirror, I was totally a mess.
My eyes puffy red color
My hair was everything but beautiful
My face was swollen and full of tears that still fell down
I was a complete mess after what Aiden said... Maybe if I go away.. No! Kody still needs me! But his dad... I needed to choose...

Will I go...?

Or will I stay here and be hurt and let down all the time...?
