Chapter 2: Family Emergency

Nick's p.o.v

It was only 8 AM, yet my morning has been so weird.

First I called Nikki to see what she was up to. She had been all dolled up, and she hung up on me, I'm going to call back.

She answered again, "Nick, I said I couldn't talk, I'll call you later okay?"

"Nik! Where are your towels at?" A guy shouted in the background.

"Nikki? Who are you with?" I asked. Oh my gosh Nikki's cheating on me.
"Goodbye Nikki."
I hung up the call.

Daniel was on his way with his daughter, because he and his wife had problems at home, and he couldn't leave his daughter there.

I heard the doorbell ring, and I went to open it. A girl with hazel eyes and brown hair my age stood there. I was stunned she was absolutely beautiful.

"Hi, how can I help you?" I asked. She chewed her gum a bit, sighed, and finally spoke.

"I'm Paige Sycamore, my dad's getting papers from his car, but he'll be here in a sec." Paige said. This was Daniel's daughter? She's gorgeous!

"Oh, come on in." I said opening the door a bit more. "You can sit on the couch, or something, you want anything to drink?" I offered.
"Nah, I'm good." Paige responded.

Daniel came in, "Sorry Nick, I forgot the sheet of paper I needed to show you at my house, can I go back real quick?" he asked. I nodded my head as Daniel left.

"So, how old are you?" I asked.
"21."
"I'm 22 we're pretty close." I responded.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" it sort of slipped out but I had to ask at some point.
"Nah, I've been talking to this guy though, how about you, you got a girlfriend?" She asked.
"No. I um, I actually found out this morning that she had been cheating on me." I sighed.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, that's a really big dick move. I can help you." Paige smirked.
"How?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows.
"Show her you've moved on, let me see your phone." She said.
I handed her my phone.
"What's your password?" She asked rolling her eyes.
I blushed, "Um Nikki."
"Wait, your ex girlfriends name is Nikki?" She started laughing hysterically.
"What's so funny? Her real name is Nicole." I stated.
"And yours is Nicholas Jerry Jonas. Oh my gosh I'm dying."
"Okay okay shut up, what's your full name then?" I asked as she opened Instagram.
"Um, its Paige Sycamore." she responded.
"Your middle name?" I pressed.
"Rae." She stopped and looked up for a second, "After my mom." She said and clicked the camera.
"Smile." she said and we took a picture together.

Her finger hovered over the 'post' button.
"She's been an alcoholic since I was born, my dad tries to act like everything's okay, but I know it's not, nothing is." Paige said following herself from my instagram.
"I'm sorry, to hear that Paige." I said soothingly as she handed me my phone back.
My phone buzzed.

Babe- Nick who's Paige?
Babe-Nick? ?
Babe-Nicholas? Are we over?
Babe-I'm sorry, please don't leave me.
Babe-Nick call me.
Babe-There was nothing going on between Jake and I. Baby please.

"She requested me on instagram." Paige said rolling her eyes.

Paige seemed like a good person her personality was just a little off, she had attitude.
