"There's something I have to tell you guys" I declare.
"Is it drama?" Nora asks eagerly and I laugh.
"Oh, yeah" I answer and hear a sound of approval coming from both her and Liza.
"Well what are you waiting for, then?! Spill the tea!"
I play with the sushi in my plate, then look around the restaurant we're having lunch in, nervous to tell them about the previous night.
"So..." I start "After dropping you both off I came home and wanted to call it a night, but I couldn't fall asleep. I decided to go out for a walk, but it was like 2 a.m...."
I tell them the whole story and listen to their occasional reactions. By the end of it, I can tell they're dying to say something.
"Oh my God!" Nora squeals "You have to text him!!"
"Do I?" I wonder.
"Yes!" Liza agrees "He's handsome, he saved you and gave you his number. Gotta grab the man, he's something you don't see every day"
"I know he is, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for another relationship..."
"No one's telling you to get into a relationship with him" she continues, earning a sound of approval from Nora "It's just a text, you're just seeing where it goes"
"I guess so. Relationships take time to build anyway, maybe I'll be ready when it comes... if it comes. Liza, would you be mad to be the only single gal in the group?"
We all laugh.
"Nah, I'd be happy for you. Now, go for it!" Liza insists, eagerly.
"Alright, I'll tell you how it went afterward."
Nora and Liza look at each other, then back at me, after hearing my statement.
"Um, no" Nora says "You're texting him now."
"What?" I feel myself blushing "Why?"
"Because you're probably going to dodge it when we're not around" Liza states, matter-of-factly.
I give them a look for a couple of seconds, then I raise my eyebrows, grabbing my phone.
"Fine."
I look at the phone feeling uneasy.
Is this the best idea? Should I really get involved with another man knowing very well where it can lead? How would it affect Annastasia? Will I be able to back down if I have to?
No. Stop overthinking. It's just a text. You're a grown woman in full control of yourself.
My fingers tap on the screen quickly as I select Paul's contact and start writing the text.
Hi. It's Lydia. Thanks for saving me yesterday.
And... sent.

After having lunch with Nora and Liza, I decided to stay at home.
If I have to go out on Sunday, I might as well rest on Saturday.
So I grabbed my recipe book and made a strawberry shortcake (Annastasia's favorite cake) to take to the Millers' house the next day. I really love baking so it's always fun for me, and the cake ends up beautiful with the white and red of the cream and the strawberries.
As I sit in my bed after putting the cake in the fridge, I browse through the channels looking for something to watch. I find a program about a vet and I start watching that as I love animals.
