Deka POV:
Few Days Later;

"And done." My hair stylist finishes the last braid. "Lemme do yo edges girl."

I let her do my edges before paying her and tipping her an extra hundred. Looking at my phone I see it was 7:15pm. I'm late for work which shouldn't matter. When you're fucking your boss.

I make my way out the door after saying by to everyone and hop in my Jeep Dee gave me for driving to work. I get caught by a light when I see that woman again. She was trying to get into the cafe but they wouldn't let her. She wore something different and cleaner. I see the little money I slid her she used wisely. I drive into the parking spot in front of the shop and cut the engine. Getting out, I see Dee cutting my little son hair. The mom was no where to be seen as usual. I walk in greeting everyone.

"Hey Kyng." I say giving him a big smile.

He returns it smiling extra hard back to me. I kiss Dee cheek before heading to the back. Cleaning the back room up, Dee comes in and walks straight toward me not saying a word. She pushed me against the wall choked me. I take everything in as she throws her tongue down my throat. Her hand grazes against fat ma. I smile into the kiss.

" Next time your late your gonna earn yourself a punishment." She whispers in my ear and letting go just as Laae walks through the door.

I smile extra hard knowing I'm getting fucked up when I get home. I look at Laae and she rolls her eyes at me as she purposely knocks over a hair dye box she seen me just finish unpacking.

" Oops". She laughs walking out.

I throat punch her in my head. She ain't never liked me. I pick it up and start doing my job. Few moments later I walk to the front. Kyng was sitting on the couch messing with the magazines.

" Boy yah know yah can't read." I laugh plopping next to him.

" I can read pictures fool." He laughs with me.

" Where yo brother?" I say referring to his older brother Mató.

" I don't know. He dropped me off and told me to get something to eat than go home." He shrugs his shoulders.

I shake my head in disappointment.

"Come on rag a muffin." I say walking out the door with Kyng.

He get in the Jeep and straps his seatbelt. I get in the driver seat and pull off.

" So what you been up to lil man?" I make conversation.

" Chilling, going to school than basketball practice." He says.

" You been staying outta trouble?" I joke.

" Of course! I'm not the bad one." He laughs.

We arrive at 'Shady Shacks' my favorite sandwich shop. I cut the engine and we get out. Waiting in the line we talk about him scoring three pointer at the last 5 seconds. I order us a bacon egg and cheese and get cups for lemonade.

" How's your OG?" I ask.

He stays quiet so I know to drop the conversation all together.

" Why you don't come up to my school anymore. Reading ain't the same without you." He says with a mouth full of egg.

" I've been busy lately my mans, but I'm chaperoning y'all dance Friday. You ask anyone yet?" I poke his nose.

" No not yet. I wanna ask Sativa, but I think Ramones asking so I might just not go." He frowns.

" No you gottah go lil man. Imma be there and here." I pull out a hundred. "Get you a nice little suit and buy her ticket for her so she can't say no." I smile at him.

He takes the money and laughs. We finish our food. I drive to his complex to drop him off. I see his brother Matò exiting the car as the catcalls and whistling began. I walk Kyng up to the doors.

" Aye little man. That's you?" This guy with dirt dreads and glistening melanin skin smiling his blinding golds.

" You already know." Kyng laughs.

" Bet you I could cop her." The guy goes on.

" Oh really boy please." I laugh at him.

" Nahhhh that's Dee girl you better watch." Matò laughs. "Dee will light yo ass up on a beat."

I don't speak on it, knowing it's true. I kiss Kyngs forehead before hopping back into my Jeep and rolling down back to the shop.
