After school, I went home feeling satisfied. The girls had started acting like an actual team the rest of practice and it was great. We were communicating even more and cheering each other on throughout the whole morning practice. Each girl was starting to grow in confidence, not counting on me to do every little thing for them, but doing it themselves. Overall, it was just a great improvement for the whole team and I finally felt prepared for the Championship tomorrow.

Now, I'm waiting in line to pick my little sister up from school. The school bell rang and kids swarmed out of the building. A few minutes passed and I finally spotted her face in the crowd. She was smiling brightly and laughing at something. I noticed a girl standing next to her with a smile on her face as well, and immediately recognized her as the girl from the foster home. It made me happy knowing Liz had already made a new friend at the home. I figured it would help her feel more comfortable when we finally move in today.

Liz said a goodbye to her friend and then hopped into the passenger seat of my truck. "Hey Casey!" She said enthusiastically and I smiled back at her.

"Hey Lizzy, how was your day?" I asked, already knowing the answer, but I wanted to hear her tell me anyways. I started the car and drove towards the house.

"It was so awesome! You know that girl I was playing with at the home?" She asked me and I nodded. "Well, guess what... she goes to my school! Isn't that great?"

"That's fantastic, Liz." I mirrored her enthusiasm and she continued on.

"Her name is Olivia, but I just call her Liv. She's my age and she also loves the Women's National Team just as much as I do." She exclaimed excitedly, her smile never leaving her face. It was really precious how excited she was over her new friend.

"Hah, that's cute. Liz and Liv." I joked and she just smiled.

"Oh, and she said there's a USWNT game on today that's in town. I wish I could go, but guess what!... She said we could watch it on the TV." She started bouncing up and down in her seat. "You hear that Case? They have a TV!" She squealed out and I laughed. We never had any electronics at our old house, but I would occasionally take her over to Riley's house to watch a USWNT game. I would watch them sometimes, but I didn't know very much about the players.

"Well, we'll just have to get you over there fast so you can watch it." I chuckled and she nodded her head furiously. I haven't seen her this happy since I bought her that knock-off Tobin Heath jersey she loves so much.

We swung by the house one last time and collected our things. Liz seemed more than ready to get out of there, but, I, on the other hand, was just praying that I was making the right decision. I knew, deep down, that everything was going to play out the way it was supposed to and that we're both going to be fine. However, I always had that nervous panic on the outside that everything could just go terribly wrong.

I shook the negative feelings away and parked my truck beside the foster home. Getting out of the vehicle, I walked around to the trunk and grabbed my and Liz's suitcases. Liz didn't even stop to help, instead she ran straight through the doors and, most likely, into the living room. I followed slowly behind, holding both suitcases in my hands. A few moments later, Heather came walking through the main hallway.

"Ah, there you are Casey. I see Liz is already settling in well." She chuckled a little and I shook my head with a smile.

"Yes, I'm sorry about her, she's a little excited today. I'm sure the last thing you want is another hyper child running around." I apologized, feeling bad for her with all the children she has to deal with on a daily basis.
