Sisters Story

Some days I miss the colors of the world. At such a young age I was blinded in a horrible way. The emptiness I felt and the pain, the head splitting pain. Normal kids don't have it done to them, but I'm not normal. I wasn't raised by normal. I never learned normal.

Why can't I be normal?

I used to think that a lot. As a young boy I remembered Sister complaining to Mrs. Talla, "Why are we such monsters?" or "Why did you have to save us, you freak?" That last one hurt Mrs. Talla the most. She never did anything but love Sister and Sister wished her dead. She wished the whole Elven dead. She wished me dead, and oh did she try, and once she almost succeeded.

The walk with Sister was eerily quiet. Usually Sister was going on about some plant or problem ,yet she was silent, much to silent. I was confused as to why she was so quiet. Then, she spoke. Harsh and demanding.

"Stay still."

My heart froze as I turned to look at her. She stared at me with eyes full of hate and resentment. I saw a glint of something in her hand and I knew what was going to happen. The one thing she promised. The one thing I never expected her to be so blinded by hate to do. The ultimate punishment for a witch. I was going to lose my sight and in a bloody and painful way.

She made her way towards me slowly as she reached out for me. I was frozen, both in fear and in expectancy. I knew this would happen anyway so why stop it? Why try to prevent it? As long as she's happy then I'll be fine with it.

As long as she loves me"

I survived it with the healing spell I knew, but it wasn't enough to bring back my eyes. I never did see her again, well of course I didn't literally see anyone after that but I can sense who's around me and she never was.

Sister left me.

Sister left me alone in those dark woods.

Sister abandoned me.

Sister abandoned me.
