(No One's P.O.V.)
It starts at Caleb, laying on a bed. His shirt off, chest and stomach bandaged. Hair all ruffled. Unconscious.
A girl comes to his side, soon followed by a boy.
???(Boy): How's he doing?
??? 2(Girl): He's alive.
???: I guess we're lucky he's even that.
??? 2: We need to get him back to one-hundred percent.
???: I know. And that's exactly why we did all of this. Vale needs him. Have any idea when he'll wake up?
??? 2: Honestly, no. After what he's been through, there's no telling. He went through who knows how many fights, hard hits, and an explosion. Any normal person would take a while to recover from all of that.
???: I think we've established he's not a normal person. I'm gonna go check on everything.
??? 2: I'll be here. Someone has to be here when he wakes up.
The boy nods, exiting the room. The girl looks to Caleb.
???: Wake up soon... Red Hood.
(Ruby's P.O.V.)
I'm sitting in my bed after just waking up. I rub my eyes, looking out the window. Birds chirping, tree branches and leaves waving in the wind, and the sunlight shining down on it all. The door opens, and I look to see Yang walking in.
Yang: Morning, Ruby.
Ruby: Morning.
I grab my scroll from my end table.
Yang: Dad made breakfast.
Ruby: I'm not hungry.
Yang: Well, at least come down and join us.
I open the pictures on my scroll, going through them until I find one with Caleb.
Yang: You haven't gone one morning without looking at a picture of him.
Ruby: I miss him too much not to.
Yang: Ruby, I miss him too. But we can't always dwell on the past. I would do anything to have him back. Tell him how truly sorry I am. But he's gone.
Ruby: No! You don't understand, Yang. He's in my dreams now. He's the only thing I can think about. It's been five weeks since that day, and it constantly pains me that I can't tell him how I feel. The only place I can be with him is in my dreams. Sometimes the pictures influence my dreams. They take me back to those times, and they help me make up stories about us.
Yang nods.
Yang: I know the feeling, sis. But instead of dreams like that, I have nightmares. They haunt me every night. Constantly reminding me of what I've done. How I treated him. What he must've felt like when he caught me cheating on him. How differently all of this could of been if I just did what I should've from the start, and stayed loyal to one of the greatest guys ever.
I look up at her from my scroll.
Yang: We all have our demons. And you shouldn't have to deal with them on your own. So please, come on down. Be with your family.
I look at the picture of Caleb again, nodding.
Ruby: Okay.
I get up, following Yang downstairs. We walk into the kitchen, where our dad is sitting at the table.
Tai: Hey, girls. Breakfast is on the stove.
I sit down across from him.
Ruby: I'm not hungry.
