Tuesday, August 16, Butsumetsu

The sound of a bell jingled in the distance as Fuyuka silently walked through the forest. Her blank eyes staring ahead as she held her parasol above her head. Walking freely Beast and Lady walked on both her sides. Guarding her like the hell dogs of the underworld.  Her long-sleeve white lace dress ruffled slightly with the passing breeze.  Coming to a small clearing between the trees Fuyuka walked down towards an old worn-out headstone. Her fingers traced the top of the headstone. The name barely recognizable after all these years. Placing the red spider lily beside the headstone she frowned reaching up to touch her locket. The same symbol engraved into the locket was engraved into the headstone.

"This village is surrounded only by death," Fuyuka muttered to herself before walking away. As she walked back to the manor her eyes caught sight of the town's people wearing funeral attire.

"Today must be that girl's funeral." She muttered coming to a halt as a strange feeling overcame her.

"It must be nice, having people to mourn you after death. But what of those who don't? But only become things carried off with the wind of forgetful memories." Staring in the direction of the funeral her feet slowly moved forward. Her eyes staring blankly as she kept moving forward. Up head of the road, a familiar blue-haired figure was walking in the opposite direction she was. His face turned with a frown seeming irritate as he left the funeral on his own. In their own thoughts, the two walked past one another. As a strand of strawberry blond hair caught the corner of his eyes. Natsuno's eyes widen stopping in his steps. Quickly turning he watched as the girl he had crossed paths with already twice walk away. The same dogs from before trailing after her. As he stared at her retreating form he couldn't help but think something about her was strange.  Something he couldn't wrap his head around.

Walking Fuyuka suddenly stopped slowly turning her head. Her eyes catching sight of the boy who had been watching her as well. A bell jingled in the distance as the two stared at one another in silence before she turned watching them carry out the coffin from a distance.  Staring at her in silence Natsuno couldn't help but wonder what was going through her head at that moment. With one last glimpse, Fuyuka gave him a slight nod before continuing her way.

Walking through the forest Fuyuka passed several old name stones before hiding herself behind a tree. Watching as they buried the coffin deep in the ground.

"I hope don't come back," Fuyuka said silently to the corpse in the coffin. As she stared at them covering the hole back with dirt her eyes caught sight of the young monk standing there. With a silent gasp, she took a step back feeling her heart drop. The air around her growing thin, her body trembling.

"S-Seishin." Fuyuka shuttered her face growing pale as the feeling of nausea overcame her. Her dull eyes shining as she caught sight of him. An overwhelming wave of emotion caught her off guard. The walls inside of her slamming down with such force it felt her body would crumble.    With fear she quickly found herself running quickly away. The dogs behind her quickly let out a worried bark before rushing after her. Seishin who had heard the bark looked up confused. His eyes searching the trees before going over to comfort the dead girl's parents when he found nothing.

Running, Fuyuka's heart felt like it was about to burst out. Tired she clenched her hand over her chest.  Breathing heavily she leaned against a tree sliding down on her knees.

"W-why? Why?"  Fuyuka questioned with wide eyes her trembling hand reaching out to cover her right side of the face. Clenching her trembling fist she curled herself in trying to calm the terror spreading through her body.

"Why?"' Fuyuka questioned feeling tears streaming down her cheeks as she pressed her hands on the sides of her head. The voices muttering to her in her head not allowing her to think straight.

Fuyuka

With a gasp, Fuyuka's eyes widen in shock. In the midst of the voices, Sunako's voice called out to her bringing her back from the madness.

"S-Sunako," Fuyuka said weakly, forcing herself to stand up once again.

"I have to go back," Fuyuka said hugging herself as she stumbled her steps forward. Her mind feeling trying to fog off the weakness in her heart. Her walls slamming back up as heavy chains began wrapping themselves around her heart. She wouldn't allow herself to break again.

"It's all in the past now. It'll never go back. It doesn't matter anymore. It doesn't. Sunako is the only thing that matters now" She kept reminding herself as she forced herself forward. Her words causing the dullness in her eyes to return even more hollow. With each step growing further away from her past.

Leaning her side against the wall Fuyuka stared out through the window beside her. Her dull eyes glued on the dark sky. Her pale skin standing out more against the black puffed short dress. The style similar to Sunako's in a gothic victorian lolita style. Long lace sleeves with bat wings on the ends. Placing her hands against the cold glass she briefly closed her eyes listening to the heavy rain outside.  Walking through the hallway Tatsumi stopped briefly surprised to see the young girl there. Since she had come back home days ago she has shut herself in her room for two days before following Sunako around like an obedient child. Staying more silent than usual and never once leaving the manor.

"Fuyuka?" Tatsumi called out to the girl growing closer.

"How many are dead now?" Fuyuka asked with her eyes still shut. Her mind still at peace without the voices but rather with the calming sound of the rain.

"Ten," Tatsumi answered watching her closely.

"Did that girl come back?" Tatsumi smirked knowing whom she was speaking about.

"Yeah she did, she's a natural at this. A little crazy if you ask me." Tatsumi chuckled stopping when she opened her eyes.

"Soon, Sunako's wish will come true." She muttered to herself letting her hand that was pressed on the glass fall to her side.

"I wonder if the skies will clear tomorrow. How many more skies will I get to see?" She wondered to herself caught Tatsumi off guard as she let out an empty smile. Turning away she silently walked away, her movements stiff showing the tiredness in both her body and mind.

"Only a river of blood will follow and souls will be broken."
