The Accords had been destroyed, meaning that the rogue avengers were no longer fugitives. This information was released to the public and while it put the public to ease knowing that their mightiest defenders were back together, there was still doubt about if there was tension.

So Pepper, having the brains that she has, decided that all the avengers would be living at Stark Tower. So that the team can rekindle their friendship and patch up the past. Tony knew that it was a good idea, it was Pepper's idea, so of course, it was a smart idea. But that didn't mean that he didn't have his issues with this. These were the people who he called friends, they betrayed him. Especially Steve. The almighty Captain had left Tony bloody and beaten in Siberia. Some friend. And now, he was meant to see this man over cereal, or when he's going anywhere in the Tower, his home.

But no-one had more of a problem with this, then Peter Parker.

The Avengers have been at the tower for a month now. While Tony has managed to rebuild his friendships with most of the rogues, Steve was different. But Tony was at least able to be in the same room with Steve, unlike Peter.

Peter had shown from day one that he will not have anything to do with Steve. Steve has tried to make Peter like him, but he doesn't know why in the first place he hates him. Tony knows though. It's because Peter is protective of Tony, he doesn't want Steve to hurt Tony again. Which, warms the man's heart.

So, on a Saturday, Peter was in the kitchen getting a glass of lemonade. No one else was around. So Steve thought it would be a good time to try talking to Peter.

"Hey, Pete."

silence

"I-uh, saw that fight you had on the news. You were up against some pretty big guys. You're a lot like me."

"I am nothing like you."

"I mean, both little guys, picking fights with the big kids."

"True. But unlike you, I will never hurt a friend." The venom in Peter's voice was painful to hear.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

silence

"Look, son. I know you have a problem with me. But-"

"Don't call me that. Don't talk to me like this."

"Well considering you never last five seconds in the same room as me, I'll talk to you however I want to. If that means I get through to you."

"I don't care that you're an adult, I'll hurt you in ways the war never could."

"Don't talk to me like that."

"Then don't talk to me like that."

sigh. "Look, son-"

BANG

Peter had enough. He shoved this man in front of him far away from him. So, Steve got sent into the wall. Leaving a huge mark in the wall where he made an impact on. He looked up to Peter.

"Don't call me that."

"Don't talk to me like that."

"Better yet, don't talk to me."

"Don't come near me."

"Don't come near Tony."

"I won't let you hurt him again."

So, when the nearest Avengers came into the room having heard the loud thud. They found Steve sitting on the floor, with an ice-pack against his head and staring at the floor.

"Steve, what happened?" Clint asked.

"I, uh, just had a realization."

"And why were you slammed into a wall?" Sam asked.

"The realization hit me pretty hard."
