Introductions were made, jokes were played, the rest of the night went by smoothly and over the span of time, Y/n began to feel more and more at home. Eventually, the end of the day dawned on everyone and they all said their goodnights. Nya and Y/n walked down the hallway to a room where the two of them would be sharing while the 5 boys walked the other direction to their room and Sensei Wu left to another part of the building. As Y/n lay in the comfortable bed, one of which she has never been in since the death of her parents, some thoughts pop into her head.

"Hey Nya?" She asks softly.

"Mmm?"

"Can I ask you a few things?"

"Sure," she states groggily.

"How come the other guys were wearing masks when they met me and why do they all have different colors for each person? I mean it helps to have the colors to signify which one is which, but why?"

"You don't know?" She asks, confused. "They're the ninja!"

Y/n looks at her, still confused.

"You're telling me you don't know who the ninja are?"

Y/n nods slowly.

"Wow..." she mutters under her breath. "Well the ninja are exactly as they sound. They're ninjas. The thing is, they all have special elemental powers. That explains the color too! So first we have Kai, my brother."

"Kai's your brother?!" Y/n practically shouts, earning a laugh from Nya.

"Yeah. Now he's the ninja of fire. He can summon fire in his hands and stuff. We can show you tomorrow. Hence, his color is red for the fire."

"Oh! Can I try to guess?"

"Sure! You try Cole."

"Alright..." Y/n pauses to think and then starts. "So Cole's color is black, right?"

"Yep."

"So maybe something related to coal? Like earth?"

"Wow! You hit that one on the nail! Yeah! He's the master of earth."

"So what... does that mean he can move rocks and stuff?"

"Kinda... he can maneuver earthly materials. This also leads him to have like super strength or whatever."

"Cool."

"Alright... how about Jay? His is tricky."

"He's the blue one, right?" Y/n asks while Nya nods. "So maybe water?"

This earns a laugh from Nya, leading the boys to come running into the room.

"What's going on in here? You two are talking up a storm!" Kai states, turning on a light.

"Y/n is trying to guess what your elements are. We're on Jay right now."

"Oh really? What am I then Y/n?" Jay asks, running up to the foot of her bed and sitting down.

"I guessed water because of your suit color but telling from Nya's reaction, I'm wrong."

"Yeah! You kinda almost got it... I'm the master of lightning!" He states, sparking a few lightning bolts in his hand while Y/n looks in awe.

"That's so cool!" She whispers in shock.

"Yeah. I told her what Kai's is and she guessed Coles perfectly on the first time!" Nya says.

"Really? You knew I'm the master of being handsome?" Cole leans over and smirks, flexing his muscles.

Y/n looks at him as if he was a maniac and scoots back.

"I'm just joking! Yeah, I'm the master of earth." He holds out a hand as rocks swarm around it.

Y/n scoots back to him and reaches out to touch it.

"That's so cool! I wish I had powers." She states.

"Eh, it can suck sometimes..." Lloyd speaks up.

"What do you mean? What's your power?"

"I have the power of energy. Sometimes it wastes some of my energy though. Luckily I've mastered it enough that it won't take up as much." He walks over to Y/n and sits on the other side of her, holding out his hand where a green orb of energy floats.

"Wow!" She murmurs.

"It can be very useful too though. I use my powers a lot for food," Zane speaks up.

"How? What's your power?"

"Ice!" He holds out his hands and forms a little swan in his hands.

"Woah! That's beautiful!" Y/n holds out her hands and takes the ice figure, turning it around every now and then.

"I personally believe Fire is the most useful," Kai brags, creating a ball of fire in his hands and holding it out for Y/n to see.

"They're all very unique and useful in their own ways," she states, not wanting to start a fight or anything.

They sit there for a few minutes until a knock rings through the room. They all turn around to be met by a rather tired looking Sensei Wu.

"Don't you five remember that we have sunrise exercises tomorrow? Get to bed!"

"Yes Sensei," the five reply, getting up and walking back to their rooms.

As soon as they all left, Y/n speaks up, "Sensei? Do you think I have powers too?"

Sensei Wu looks at her, confused, and then his expression softens.

"One day you will see your full potential. Maybe you do, maybe you don't. But don't fret my child. It will all become clear eventually. If you would like, you may join us for sunrise exercises tomorrow."

"Thank you Sensei! I will think about that," Y/n nods and then lays down once Sensei Wu leaves.

"Don't worry Y/n. I don't have powers either. Maybe you might though. We'll find out eventually," Nya states, giving Y/n some hope that she may be special like the others.

That night, she falls asleep, wondering what type of potential Sensei Wu must have been talking about.
