Chapter Two: Lucas

Arisa wakes up to her alarm blaring, indicating that she needs to start getting ready for school. She turns off her alarm, and then she looks at the other side of the bed to see Sammy still sleeping peacefully despite the loud music. Arisa smiles and decides to let Sammy get some more sleep while she gets ready for school.
Arisa wakes Sammy up once she finished getting ready and before she starts making breakfast. No matter how many times Arisa yelled her name or shook her, Sammy would not budge. Since Sammy did not want to wake up, Arisa decides to start hitting her with pillows. After hitting Sammy several times, she finally wakes up.
"Ok, ok, lay off the pillows already. I am awake, so stop hitting me!" Sammy whined as she starts to get up from the bed. Arisa just laughed and went downstairs to start making breakfast. By the time Arisa finished making food, Sammy is still getting ready, ' I swear that girl takes forever, and I should have woken her up earlier' Arisa mumbles to herself. As Arisa carries the plates of food to the table, she yells for Sammy to hurry up. All Arisa gets as a response is an "ok."

Arisa starts eating breakfast while waiting for Sammy to come down to eat so they can head out and pick up Lucas, their best friend. The dream that Arisa had is still on her mind, especially the dead body. Arisa is sure that it was a male probably around her age. Even though the head was on the ground, Arisa could not see the face. Arisa could still feel the hands keeping up her arms towards her throat, giving her chills.
"Arisa!! Hey, are you ok?" Sammy shouted in Arisa ear making her jump.
"Stop shouting in my ear, or do you want to blow my eardrums out" Arisa rubbed her ears to get rid of the ringing due to Sammy's yelling.
" I have been calling your name for the past 5 minutes, but you never respond. Plus, your phone has been going off for 10 minutes".
"What really?" Arisa grabbed her phone from off the table to see that she had four missed calls and six messages. They were all from Arisa and Sammy's best friend, Lucas.
"Shit, Lucas is going to kill me" Arisa sighs as she looks at Sammy.
"It will not be just you." Sammy holds up her phone to show messages and missed calls from Lucas as well. Arisa gives Sammy a look as if to ask what her excuse was.
"My phone was on silent." Sammy shrugs her shoulders.
Arisa just rolled her eyes and laughed while she called Lucas back, putting the call on speaker.
"What the hell, I thought both of you were still asleep! I was ready to walk over there and wake both of y'all asses up." Lucas whined as soon as he answered the phone. Arisa and Sammy both rolled their eyes, Lucas can be so dramatic.
"Sorry love, we both were getting ready, and our phones were on silent," Sammy says first.
"You know we love you too much to ignore you," Arisa adds right after.
"I guess I will forgive y'all then, but I have some news!" Lucas says, excitedly over the phone.
"Did you finally get a boyfriend?" Arisa and Sammy say at the same time.
"No I wish, with how small this town is. I highly doubt I will find the one for me here." Lucas says sadly, but the girls know he is being dramatic.
"So, what is the news then?" Arisa asks, wanting to know. Lucas knows all the news and gossip that goes on in our town Hollow Watch.
"Colson from school went missing two days ago."
"Colson? Who is Colson ?" Arisa asked, trying to recall if she ever met a Colson.
"He is that asshole on the football team, and I believe he is a grade below us." Lucas provides.
"Oh, Colson, the guy that tried to bully you just because you are gay." Once Sammy said that Arisa remembered who Colson is. He is this wannabe jock that liked to bully people just for the hell of it because he is on the football team. Colson learned his lesson not to mess with Lucas after Sammy and Arisa embarrassed him in front of the whole school.
"He is probably off partying somewhere, or maybe he is just hungover at a friend" Arisa says after realizing who Colson is.
"That is what everyone is saying, but his parents think he is missing because he has not called them, answered their calls, or even contacted any of his friends." Lucas says, but before he can continue, Arisa's alarm goes off.
"Well, that means we need to leave the house and pick you up if we want to make it to school on time." Sammy says as she starts clearing the table.
"Got it! I will be waiting outside, so hurry" Lucas says before hanging up.
Arisa and Sammy are out the door in less than 10 minutes and on their way to pick up Lucas. Thankfully Lucas only lives five houses down from them. Just like Lucas said, he was waiting for them when Arisa pulled into his driveway. Looking like he just stepped off a runway as usual. Lucas wastes no time hopping into the back seat, and then Arisa takes off to their school.
"Why do you always look so fashionable? If you were not gay, I would date you in a heartbeat." Sammy says to Lucas as she looks him up and down.
"You know I always have to look good, and thank you love. Sorry to say, but Arisa is more my type." Lucas smirks back at Sammy, Arisa just laughs.
"Hey, what is wrong with me?" Sammy says, while laughing.
"Nothing, Queen. You know we would clash way too much because our personalities are the same. Arisa, on the other hand, is the opp, so we would work."
"I guess that makes sense" Sammy turned back around to face the front of the car, content with the answer.
"Plus, she is hotter," Lucas said, joking with her.
Arisa just rolled her eyes but did not act surprised, this is a typical morning. It makes Arisa smile, knowing things do not change no matter how much time passes.
Sammy and Lucas bicker the whole ride until they pull into the parking lot. As much as Arisa loves them, they are giving her a headache, and she has had enough.
"Would y'all shut up, we are here so get out of my car."
As soon as they were all out of the car, Sammy and Lucas attach themselves on either side of Arisa.
"Why do we have to go to school again? Can't we skip."
"So your dad can get on your case again. Also, my mom would kill us if we skip."
" That is why we are not skipping Lucas. Winter break is coming up soon, and then we have a whole month to do whatever we want." Arisa shouts over the noise of other students in the hallway, talking. On their way to their lockers, they pass by students talking about Colson.
Once they got to their lockers, they put their stuff up and got what they needed for their first period. When Arisa closed her locker, she noticed Lucas and Sammy looking at her with an evil smile on their faces.
"What are y'all planning?"
"So you know how your birthday is in 2 weeks, right?" Lucas said enthusiastically.
"We were thinking about throwing a party."
Arisa just looked at them like they were crazy. One because they know how she feels about parties and two because they are not popular.
"No!"
"Just hear us out first. We will not invite a lot of people and you only turn 18 one time." Arisa just gives Sammy a look and then walks away towards her first class.
Lucas caught up to Arisa first, "Just like Sammy said, you only turn 18 once. Why not go all out. We could give you a makeover and you can finally snag a guy."
"Haha very funny Lucas" Arisa rolled eyes and kept walking.
"I mean he is right Fox, you are way to gorgeous not to show off." Sammy said trying to back up Lucas on why they should throw a party.
"Wow gee thanks that makes my self esteem so much better. You know I do not really li-" Arisa felt someone bump into her, causing her to fall to the floor.
"Watch it low-life"
Arisa looks up from the ground to see Luna towering over her with her best friend Athena. Luna is part of the popular crowd, she is the cheerleader captain and for some odd reason she hates Arisa's guts.
"Why does Arisa have to watch it when you clearly did that on purpose." Lucas and Sammy helped Arisa up from off the floor.
"Yeah, you better be careful Luna who or what you bump into because your silicone breast might pop," Lucas says mockingly towards Luna.
"How about you go back to China, you are not even from here" Athena said, trying to defend her best friend, Luna.
"I am from South Korea, at least get it right. Maybe instead of fucking every guy that looks your way, you should pay more attention in class." Lucas shot back to Athena.
Before Athena could say a comeback, Principle Roland was coming their way.
"Is there a problem here?"
"No Principal Roland, we just had a small misunderstanding but we got it all figured out." Luna says while looking Arisa with a fake smile.
"Yes everything is fine, we were just heading to class now" Arisa agrees even though she does not want to.
"Ok good, now all of you get to class."
Arisa and her friends left first towards their classes.
"Ugh I hate them so much, I do not know why they dislike us so much"
Sammy says as soon as they were far away enough.
"Let's not worry about them, they are unimportant. We need to get to class before we are late." Arisa looks at the time to see that they have less than 10 minutes before classes start. They all promised to meet up for lunch and then they went to their first class, which none of them share together.
