Your feet slowly dragged you another step towards the nothing you were headed to. Your legs were barefoot and full of scratches from walking a great distance. The sun was starting to set and the golden light shone onto your grey kimono. You had been walking from the very early mornings without any breaks nor food or water, all you wanted was to get as far away as possible. You sighed at the thoght of having left so suddenly but you just couldn't handle it anymore. You looked up for a slight second feeling Your tired eyes get hazy and in the next moment you felt yourself collapse to the ground. Right before you closed your eyes you saw a figure walking towads you and the last thing you felt was a hand on your head before drifting off to sleep.
"Can't you do better!?" a rude and malicious voice eccoed through the hallways, then a smacking sound was heard and a thud. Ume looked down at you laying on the floor with your hand covering your chin that was now crimson from the hit it had just taken. "don't you dare speak back to me and not to mention your sloppy work!!" Ume said annoyed, she glared down at the female with utter disgust and her eyes glimted of murderous intents. If you didn't know better you would have thought she was gonna murder you right then and there, but another servant came running at the commotion. She was holding a tray with tea that she was supposed to deliver to Ume. As she reached the ruccus she was meet with Ume's furious expression and stopped a few feet before her scared. "H-here is your t-tea m-mistress.." She uttered out looking down too afraid to meet Ume's gaze. Ume simply frowned and made her way to the tea picking up a cup and sipping some. "Make this trash understand how important her work is! She is useless for me how she is now." Ume said waving her hand at the other servant walking away. The servant looked down at you still in shock sitting on the floor holding your chin still. She wanted to say something but was cut off by you standing up and running out of the building.
'I'll never return'
'A dream?' Your eyes opened slowly to reveal a unfamiliar space. Feeling around, you felt the comfort of blankets and pillows around you. You looked around slowly feeling your whole body being in pain. You sat slightly up looking around, the aching pain slowly loosening up after a few moments. The room was quite fancy and nicely decorated. There was a shelf with golden fans as decoration on and a vase with a bundle of white lilies. You stared for a second realizing there were no natural light so you turned to look to the window. It was clearly closed and covered with golden curtains, and it didn't seem to be daytime anymore. You had no more time to look around before You heard someone enter the room, pushing the sliding door aside. A young woman walked in and smiled as she saw you were awake. "Hello, how are you feeling?" she asked giving a comforting smie. Her aura seemed very relaxed so you weren't alarmed by not knowing who she was, still it was frightening being somewhere you didn't recognize. The woman explained she found you passed out on the road and brought you here as she didn't know what else to do. "Where am i?" You asked feeling your throat being a little soar. She smiled and sat down at the edge of the bed, "Don't worry, you are at the Eternal Paradise Cult" She said softly. You tilted your head slightly at her, "It's safe here and you can stay for as long as you want, we have already told our leader and he told us you are welcome to stay." The woman explained. You nodded slightly before looking down wondering who such a kind man could be. Suddenly a low growl could be heard, you felt your stomach twist and turn and you placed your hands on it."S-sorry.." You said ashamed and looking down. The woman looked at you curiously and smiled, "Hungry are we?" She asked while giggling a little. "Uh I haven't eaten the whole day...so y-yeah..." You mumbled not wanting to worry the kind lady. She looked at you in shock and stood up. "Then i'll send some food here right away! You must be starving! poor girl..." She exclaims while walking to the entrance, "Someone will be back with food very soon, you just relax here." She said kindly and took off.
A while later you heard a knock comming from the sliding door and you looked over to see two women opening the door with one tray in each of their hands. You smiled slightly to greet them and started eating as soon as they gave you the food. You explained to them that you were from the Red Light District working for Ume's castle. You explained how bad she treated her workers and many had started disappearing lately so you were getting scared of her. So you ran off without any thought of where to go or what to do. The girls felt bad for you and suggested you stay here until you figured out what you would do. you agreed for now and smiled at them. "How about we introduce you to our leader? so you can meet him in person?" One of them said as the other just nodded in excitement. You couldn't see any harm in introducing yourself to him if you were to stay a while so you simply agreed. You finished eating and the girls waited patiently for you to be full to go meet their leader.
The three of you walked through the halls and you looked around trying to get a knowledge about the surroundings. The place was huge and had a lot of rooms, thats the first thing you noticed. But also how dark it was.. other than the moonlight shining through all the windows and open doors. It seemed like a Temple, maybe even finer than Ume's. You arrived at a hallway that was twice as big as the ones you had walked in earlier, there were two big golden doors and on each side were big golden fans for decoration, and white lilies again. You spaced out at the beautiful architecture for a moment and hadn't noticed the two girls stopping. "Were here" One said as the other went to open the doors. The three of you walked inside and was greeted with a huge room which was very spacious, but you fast noticed at the centre end there was a man seated at what seemed to be a throne of pillows. Fabric was hanging from the ceiling making the room seem very dreamy in a sense. You walked a little behind the girls looking slightly down to not stare around too much. You saw the girls stop and bow their heads down. "Lord Douma. we brought the girl that was found uncouncious on the road." They said and sat down with their hands on their laps. You didn't really know what to do so you looked at one of them which smiled and motioned for you to sit down by them as well. you sat down and looked down trying to give a good impression to the man that saved you. "Thank you, she seems to be feeling better now?" The male said as he leaned his head on his hand that was resting on his knee, a wide grin on his face appeared as you looked up to meet his gaze. You were completely taken aback from his beautiful appearance. And his eyes, you were mesmerized. You couldn't help but stare. A slight blush formin on your cheeks. He smiled widely closing his eyes for a moment makin you come back to reality. You looked down again and he giggled slightly. "You two may leave, i'm gonna have a small chatt with.. Oh thats right i never got your name?" He said playfully as he put a finger up to his lips wondering. You fast apologized by bowing your head then looking at him. "It's Y/N." You said softly. He smiled upon hearing your name. "How beautiful, both you and your name" He stated before waving at the two girls to leave. They fast stood up and looked at you with a reassuring smile before closing the door behind you as you were left alone with him. You looked back at the man seeing his gaze fixated on you.
"You are welcome to stay for as long as you like. So please get comfortable." Douma said with a big smile on his face.
