Chapter Three

Sunpaw bounced out of the apprentices' den exitedly. Today Sparrowfeather had promised a tour of the territory. Sunpaw hoped Crowheart would bring Mousepaw along.

"Sunpaw!" Sparrowfeather's voice came through the entrance to the den. she popped her head in. "You ready to go?"

"Absolutely!" Sunpaw replied enthusiastically. "I'm so exited. Can Mousepaw come?"

"I'll talk to Crowheart. Meet me outside when you're ready," Sparrowfeather replied.

Sunpaw quickly groomed her pelt, and raced outside. She spotted Sparrowfeather waiting with Crowheart and Mousepaw by the thorn barrier. she sped towards them.

"You're fast!" Crowheart mewed.

If Crowheart knew that Sunpaw's father was a WindClan warrior, her speed would make perfect sense. But obviously she couldn't just tell her; so she just shrugged. "I love running."

"You sound like WindClan," Sparrowfeather joked. Sunpaw looked at her. Sparrowfeather's eyes were filled with undestanding. She turned back to Crowheart. Sunpaw suddenly realized something. Sparrowfeather knew.

Sunpaw yawned. "Get some fresh kill, and then get some rest," Sparrowfeather mewed. "We trained hard today." Sunpaw only nodded.

"Hey, Sunpaw!" It was Graypaw's voice. "Wanna share a rabbit with me? It's huge!"

"Sure," Sunpaw replied. She padded over and sat down beside the older gray apprentice. She took a bite of the rabbit, and, between the two of them, the rabbit was gone in a matter of seconds.

"Thanks for sharing," Sunpaw mewed.

"No problem. I never could've eaten it all. See you later," the tom replied. Sunpaw sighed, and padded to the apprentices' den.
