I pulled off my backpack and dropped it by my feet with a heavy sigh, Adam had forgotten to pick me up and left me no choice but to catch the bus.

"Aren't you a senior?" A gum snapping freshman had asked as she sat next to me, pushing blue bangs from her icy eyes.

"Uh, y-yeah." I had nodded, looking out the window, trying to ignore the loud pop of a gum bubble.

"How come you don't have a car then?"

"I don't drive."

"Weirdo." Then she'd moved on and I was glad.

It was pretty pathetic that I managed to get picked on by even freshmen, and freshmen girls at that. Was I just that sad? I shoved my unneeded books into my locker and shouldered my now lighter pack, heading to first period, hoping my black turtleneck covered the still slightly painful hickey Ethan had given last night. College English, yay. I dropped next to Adam with a silent glare, "Oh crap!" realization hit him, "Dude, sorry I forgot to pick you up. Frankie needed a ride, then she wanted to pick up her stupid little friends." Frankie was Adam's whiny Goth little sister. "I'm really sorry."

"It's ok." I shrugged, fiddling with the array of braclets I kept on my arms. My favorite, the baby blue one given to me by a guy I'd met on my trip to England, Callum. Speaking of Callum, I pulled out my iPhone and checked my messages, a text from Callum.

Hey dude what's up?

I text back in a flurry

Not much, waiting for class to start.

I've taken a sick day from school. Mum's taking me into the city.

Luuuckyyy! I gtg Mr. Clark just walked in.

Later mate.. Btw I'm sending you the best birthday present ever.

Callum, I told you not to buy me anything!

I'm not gonna let you tell me how to live my life!

Loser

Wanker.

I put my phone up and ignored the way Adam wiggled his eyebrows, "Callum? You two talk more than we do!" He elbowed me playfully.

"I'm not dating Callum. I'm not even gay."

"Sure." Adam chuckled, putting his focus on what Mr. Clark was scribbling on the board.

I'm not a wanker! I texted Callum back as I scurried down the hallway.
