Chapter 5

This a bit longer than my normal chapters and I know I said I would update every Monday but this chapter is already finish so why not publish it now? The next update probably won't be till next Wednesday or maybe earlier depending on whatever random as song plays. This chapter was written while listening to My Favorite Part by Mac Miller.

Your P.O.V

I sat in the chair with my knees bouncing nervously as we waited for my doctor. I turned to look at Alyssa who bit her nails nervously, "Gross stop." I spoke pulling her hand away from her mouth. "I'm just worried that's all," she said looking at me causing me to give her a small smile. "Don't be I'm going to be fine, "I spoke squeezing her hand before my name was called causing us to take a deep breath standing and make our way towards his office. "Ms. Y/L/N how are you," He spoke shaking my hand as we took a seat across from him. "Just taking it one day at a time," I spoke sighing causing his head to drop. "You've been diagnosed with leukemia stage two," He spoke causing my head to drop in my hands. "But it's not too late to get treatment. There is a possibility that we can stop it before it spreads throughout the body and began crowding the healthy cells," He spoke softly. "How soon can she start treatment?" Alyssa asked from beside me. "She can come in tomorrow at nine and we'll have everything ready," He spoke causing her to continue asking questions making sure we had all the information we needed. I felt Alyssa's hand touch my arm causing me to sit up and look at her, "You ready?" I nodded standing up shaking the doctor's hand before making my way out his office and out the hospital.

I got in the passenger's seat sitting quietly the whole way home. I had already known I had leukemia but it was still stage one. It wasn't bad so they prescribed me a medication that was supposed to stop it so I wouldn't have to take chemo. I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket seeing a picture of Ariana popping up causing me to pick it up holding the phone to my hear, "Hello?" I spoke before clearing my voice knowing it was raspy from holding my tears in. "Hey, baby. I was trying to see how long you'd be. I didn't know if you had an exam this morning or anything. So I planned our date for whenever you get out," She spoke causing a small smile to form mon my face. "Class just ended so I'm heading home to shower then I'll head your way is that alright?" I asked causing her to hum. "That's fine. I'll see you soon babe." "See you soon baby girl," I spoke before the phone hung up. "Are you ever going to tell her?" Alyssa spoke causing me to glance at her before looking back out the window shrugging my shoulders. "I don't want her to pity me or see me any differently. I just want to be a little bit normal with her. Well as normal as it can get with Ariana," I spoke leaning my head back in the seat. We pulled up to our building soon enough causing me to hurry inside wanting to get this hospital smell off me and try to erase the memories and conversation.
