"Batman, I just got a signal."
"Me too. It's coming from Gotham Academy.
"Do you think it's the girl?"
"No doubt. I'm going to check it out. Let me know of anything else."
"Will do."
-I hated being in the same room as the girl I made enemies with. She had told everyone about what happened in the cafeteria and now, everyone's passing me notes, talking about how much of a freak I was. But luckily, I was sitting with Barbara and Dick.
As much as I appreciated their help, I didn't want any of them to get in trouble. Especially Dick. He nearly got into a fight with one of the boys over what they said about me, him, and Barbara. But I told him it wasn't worth it.
So, for the rest of the day, I had to get weird, terrified, and disgusted looks from everybody as I walked the halls. I was use to it since it happened to me all the time. But it really escalated when someone came up behind me and slapped my books out my hand.
"Hey!"
"Ooh, sorry. Didn't know where I was going, freak." The guy said as he smirked and high fives his friends.
"Well, obviously you did because you SLAPPED my stuff out my hand. But, you're probably too brawn for the brains." I joked as I went to pick my books up.
"Whatcha say about me, freak?" He asked while putting his foot on one of my books.
"Are you deaf? I said you're probably too brawn for the brains." I said a little loudly before I snatched my notebook from under his foot.
I was expecting him to make a move, but when I looked back up, his eyes were full of fear, and he was looking at something behind me, as well as all the bystanders. I looked around and saw the same Civil War soldier from the cafeteria and he had his gun aimed at the guy.
'Wait.. he's protecting me? He just tried to kill me in the cafeteria!' I thought to myself before I slowly began to back away from him.
Alexandra..
I heard it again. But now I knew where it was coming from. It was coming from him. He was calling me!
Before I knew it, he had disappeared before my eyes and I slowly had let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. I quickly got to my feet as soon as the warning bell rang and I piled my stuff in my backpack before hauling it to class.
-"...did you see that?"
I walked into P.E. and saw Dick, Barbara, and Corey in a corner talking amongst each other. I went over to greet them, but I was pushed off my feet by someone.
"Watch where you're going, freak." I turned around and saw the same girl from my other class. I hated her with a passion and it's only the first day. But I told myself it's not worth putting up a fight over and I quickly got up and met my group.
"Hey, AJ. What happened? People are rumoring around saying you're friends with a ghost." Corey said before mimicking a ghost, causing Dick to laugh loudly and Barbara rolling her eyes.
"Well, that's not exactly true. Remember what happened in the caf'?" I asked as they all nodded. "Well, the man I thought I saw in the cafeteria was the same man that people are rumoring I'm friends with."
"Wait, so you really did see a man?" Dick asked as I nodded. "I know. As crazy as this sounds, it's true."
"So, that means you're powers are you can see ghost?" Barbara asked as I shrugged. We heard a whistle and we turned to see our P.E. teacher.
"Okay, ladies and gents, get into two rows and I want everyone doing 10 push ups, now! Move it!"
