That night, Cole and Veronica are both in pensive mood. She tells him that she is going to leave. She only stayed because she wanted him to remember her. She wanted to leave behind some good memories, but perhaps she's being too greedy. He vows to capture the culprit for her sake but she insists that he's done enough.

"Please don't l-leave, not yet."

He wants to remember everything about her. She cries and he moves to wipe her tears before realizing how futile that is.
