*Flashback*

Veronica invites a surprised Cole to her birthday, telling him half-jokingly that she likes him.

Saturday, 6pm. A dressed up Cole strides happily to the flower shop to pick up his delivery.

6:42pm on his way to Veronica's place, Walter stops him, begging for a favour.

"I'm sorry but I need to go somewhere."

"It will not take an hour old brother, just spare me at least 15 minutes of your time."

It's already 7'oclock in the evening when Walter leads him into a house, all shifty-like.

"Walter, I really need to go."

Walter starts ransacking the place but Cole senses something is wrong. The unrepentent Walter claims the house belongs to a well-to-do girl who whiles away her time arranging flowers, still not realizing her keys are missing. Cole scans the place and sees a photo of Veronica. He matches the address she gave him to her letters and realizes that she's the very same girl who invited him to her house.

By now, Walter has found some cash and savings.

"Walter! What the hell are you doing? come on stop that and let's leave." Cole tries to get him to leave.

"You know old brother, I don't like Veronica. I find her smiles and optimistic attitude disgusting. I won't miss the cash and will continue to live happily."

Cole slaps him and tries to wrestle back the money.

They are at a standoff when they hear footsteps. Walter went into hiding. After a moment of hesitation, Cole puts on the mask and hides as well.

Walter grabs Veronica as she enters the house from behind with a knife to her abdomen. Cole tries to intervene. He grabs the knife but falls to the floor. Veronica struggles and Walter slaps her hard. She falls onto Cole with an ominous stabbing sound. She looks up at the masked Cole and drops to her side.

Cole scrambles aside in shock and watches as the blood spills. He removes the mask and his cap, trembling and staring at her. And it is at this moment that Veronica sees him - the last person she saw before she died. He falls to his knees after she calls him "Cole" with her last breath.

In state of shock, he remain standing then Walter run off. He don't know what to do so he run away as fast as he could until he's hitted by a car by 7:23pm.
