It was quite cold. My white fur wasn't able to protect me enough from the wind and snow. I used to travel riding a horse, so I felt the pain in my whole body, especially in my fragile legs. I was barely able to move them because of the snow, moreover, he didn't even want to wait for me. I thought that Sarams were selfish and mean, but it looked like Neanthals also had their pride.

"Wait for me! Maybe you are a Naeanthal, but you are also a man. Our men help women when they need it" I said, trying so badly to go faster which was extremely hard because of the bad weather. He's just turned around slowly, peeking at me. It looked like he didn't care about the snow as if he didn't feel that terrible cold and wind.

"Maybe you are a Saram, but you are also a woman. Our women don't grumble, waiting for help they don't need" he said.

That was ridiculous! I stumbled again, falling down. My knees hurt because of it.

"I'm not a one of your women" I said, looking at him angrily.

"And I'm not a one of your men" he repeated, as if he only wanted to mimic me.

I stood up quickly, ignoring the pain in my legs. We decided to escape together, since my people attacked Naeanthals, killing them cruelly and I didn't want to be a part of their plan, but it looked like I made such a rash decision. We were too different to understand each other. He was like an animal. Strong and dangerous. But if he was an animal, then I was a monster since I was a Saram. Animals were pure, even the most dangerous ones were only fighting to survive, so he was.

I stumbled again, but this time I wasn't able to stand up. I tried so hard, but it was impossible. My leg got stuck and I didn't know why I wasn't even able to move it. The silhouette of Naeanthal disappeared and I was sure that he wouldn't have waited for me. I pulled my leg strongly, but it didn't help. Moreover, the snow didn't want to stop and it covered my whole body.

It was really cold and I couldn't control my trembling shoulders. I was naive, thinking that I could travel with Naeanthal. He didn't need me since I was completely useless, but I really needed him. I couldn't fight, I didn't have his bright eyes or instinct.

"Why did you stop, Asa Hon?" I heard above my head.

He turned back. But wasn't it obvious? My cheeks turned red immediately.

"My leg got stuck and I can't move it" I said, raising my hands. "Help me!"

But he didn't grab my hands to pull me out. He knelt down next to me instead, putting his hand into the snow. My eyes opened widely when he touched my skin on my leg. His fingers wrapped around my ankle. I was sure he would have broken my leg easily, but fortunately he was gentler than I thought.

"You stumbled because of the tree roots" he said finally, pulling my hand to help me stand up. I stumbled again, because I didn't feel my legs anymore. My ankle also looked swollen as if I twisted it.

Twisted ankle meant that I wasn't able to go any further. I became even more useless. I sat carefully on the snow, giving up totally. That was only a matter of time. He would have abandoned me anyway.

"Even though you are a Saram, you are still a woman. Women shouldn't sit on the cold snow" he said suddenly. I frowned, not understanding him at all. I didn't need his lessons about the life, since my life was questionable.

I really wanted to tell him, that I was really sorry about his people who died by hand of Sarams, but I barely opened my mouth to speak when he lifted me suddenly. He was really strong, I had to admit that. Sarams weren't as muscular as him. Even though he didn't wear a fur like me, his skin was pleasantly warm as if I touched the flame.
